I didn't really enjoy the pilot episode of Matlock so didn't watch any more.
Since reading this thread I thought I'd take another look.
Yep, am enjoying it and yes Kathy Bates does it well
Easy and enjoyable viewing.

LOVE This series. Kathy Bates is excellent… The continuation of last series seems a little stretched, but they include an individual legal problem every week anyway and I love the characters. Well worth a watch in my view, particularly if you are into cozy crime legal dramas or similar. WORTH IT JUST FOR KATHY Bates acting.

I loved the first half dozen episodes, then fell out of love with it when... no, I won't spoil it. She was solving a personal mystery - how can there be a second series?

Absolutely love this…Kathy Bates is so convincing in this MATLOCK series…also stars Beau Bridges as head of a law firm..and Maddy Aka Kathy Bates returns to the workforce at 75 to uncover evidence concerning a Pharmaceutical Company…it’s got humour and it’s an easy watch…
