New thread.

Cabowich

The current story regarding Sam is awful. Would a child having a nervous breakdown really hallucinate to that extent? I just found it all ridiculous.

I think it is psychosis rather than a 'nervous breakdown' hence the hallucinations - whatever it makes for uncomfortable viewing.

It's just lurching from one dreary, depressing episode to the next.

Tonight's offering was dire...Sam spiralling with CreepyRoy personna taking over, weird Jodie getting even weirder, tedious, endless, toing and froing with Kit & Gary, Ben losing the plot, emptying the Rovers and no hot pot for Dev either!

I agree with you. It was absolutely dire. I find perhaps 1 in 4 episodes are good but the rest are awful right now.

Aveline Sat 16-May-26 21:28:18

Psychotic episodes happen and can certainly occur in early teenage years. It's serious business. Poor Sam.

Dylis Sun 17-May-26 11:04:57

Surely Sam's "episodes" wouldn't always happen out of view or earshot of other people?
Poor Doran seems to have been abandoned by his Mum to spend the rest of his years in Coronation Street. Im sure the flood in her home would be sorted by now!

Yesterday's episode
Eva to Ma Driscoll "if you've been down there all night then my name's Carol Vorderman"
Ma Driscoll; "I'll have a consonant then please Carol"
Loved that, made me laugh!

What a disappointment Roy hasn't had the café upgraded. I feel cheated.

nanaK54 Tue 19-May-26 22:33:17

Agreed Bukkie
So are we thinking it is Jodie trolling Daniel?

Grannynannywanny Tue 19-May-26 23:39:06

Yes nanaK54 I agree it does look like it’s Jodie. She’s a nasty piece of work and going on her past actions it’s exactly what she’d do.

I was surprised when Adam arrived in Daniel’s flat and Jodie made a move to put the kettle on. Adam didn’t even look surprised to find her there.

Aveline Wed 20-May-26 07:47:25

If the cafés decor had changed even a little bit I'd have been very surprised. Obviously Roy thought the new picture of the Mallard was a big change!

Absolutely. As clear as night follows day. Very strange girl.

nanaK54 Wed 20-May-26 21:02:53

Oh for goodness sake George

Grannynannywanny Wed 20-May-26 22:19:40

What was the point of all the silliness and overacting in the factory? It was cringeworthy.

Allsorts Wed 20-May-26 22:48:22

I actually switched over, it's got stupid, all the women are loopy, men not far behind.

Calendargirl Thu 21-May-26 07:00:00

Who is looking after Harry?

Sarah, drunk in the pub, Kit away on some course or other….

David, worried about his sick daughter (when is she ever going to leave hospital?) but still slurping away in the bistro….

Aveline Thu 21-May-26 07:24:54

The factory people were carrying on and being daft to distract Kirk as it's the anniversary of his stepson's death - our Craigie

Still nonsense though.

Aveline Thu 21-May-26 08:37:55

Of course - it's Corrie after all!

Bukkie Thu 21-May-26 12:55:19

Thank you Aveline for the explanation, I couldn't work out the silliness. Gosh has Craigie been gone a year. Yes I think Harry is long forgotten.

Jodieb Thu 21-May-26 16:45:49

We are needing a good story line now Theo has gone.

Bukkie Fri 22-May-26 00:21:48

I love Susie, she acts most of them out of the water. She is exactly how you would expect Eva's daughter to be.

BlueBelle Fri 22-May-26 05:23:57

I think Susie and Tyrone’s little son whose name escapes me are the best actors on Corrie Both little naturals and are 100% better than most of the older children (and the adults)
Corrie is really not holding me much at the moment …..

Aveline Fri 22-May-26 06:29:50

Kirk was so funny in last night's show. Some really good daft one liners. A blast from the old style Corrie where a more comic character offsets the doom and gloom storylines.

Clawdy Fri 22-May-26 09:03:27

Yes, we need more fun, but not silliness like Mary's usual scenes! Not that she's in it much, like Brian. They just have occasional appearances, don't they?

Calendargirl Fri 22-May-26 10:52:52

I’m afraid I find Kirk just plain daft most of the time, and think he would be exhausting to work alongside.

Mind you, Izzy never seems to be doing much work either, and Sean just flounces about.

I like Michael, but he was one I couldn’t take to when he first appeared. He’s grown on me.

Dee Dee never warrants a mention nowadays.

Alongside Daisy, Jenny, Max, Simon, Bobby (thank goodness he disappeared), they are soon forgotten.

At least ‘our Craigy’ was getting a memorial anniversary service from the police.

RIP Craigy.

Aveline Fri 22-May-26 13:23:46

I love Kirk!
