Anyone been to see ‘I Swear’ at the cinema

I have a couple of friends who have been friends with John, the 'real life' person in the film, for years, so I'm quite looking forward to seeing this. He's quite well known locally.

Wonderful film. Very funny in parts, the “inside the car” scene in particular. The young woman in that scene has Tourette Syndrome irl and was offered the part due to a driving lesson video of her which went viral.
It’s also very sad in parts, and beautifully acted by Robert Aramayo as John. It was also good to see Peter Mullan on the big screen again.

Oh been following John over the years- I didn’t realise this film was about him.
My aunty went to see it with daughter, both cried at the end.
Will try & find time to go & see it.

I really enjoyed it! Better than I expected, to be honest.

I thought it was an excellent film. It highlights both humorously and poignantly what must be such a difficult and potentially isolating condition to live with.

If you haven’t seen it yet, then I do heartily recommend this film - it gives an honest insight into Tourette’s. I have a young relative who struggles every day to control her (physical) tics - she gets home from school exhausted. We’re hopeful that the wrist worn technology (mentioned at the end of the film) will become generally available before too long as it could be life changing for her.

What a beautiful film. We saw it at a local cinema today and I was moved to tears. It was also very funny. I have a nephew with Tourette’s, although to a lesser degree than John Davidson. My nephew has chosen not to take medication and has made a huge success of his life. I am very interested in the progress being made into this condition.

I loved this film. The actor playing John is wonderful. I shed a few tears towards the end, it's so marvellous.

I have just finished reading the book, and would recommend it to anyone interested in Tourette’s. The film was very true to John Davidson’s book.

It is on in the village hall via Flix in the Stix on Tuesday. I was not going to go - but now I will!

I saw it at the cinema, took some friends who really weren’t bothered about seeing it but we all agreed it was the best film we’d seen for years.

We watched it on Netflix last evening.
A great film so very well acted . I laughed and cried.

I watched it on Netflix last night with my son and Dil. We all agreed it was a wonderful film. My Dil and I were moved to tears. I found the first half a difficult watch with the bullying from his peers and the brutal corporal punishment inflicted by the headmaster.

I remember the documentary about him as a teenager. I think in the 1990’s .

Another here who watched it on Netflix last week. It was an eye opener into the world of Tourette’s. Saddened me to see John display his first symptoms at the age of 14 such a shame how the ramifications affected not only his schooldays but impacted upon his family too, totally changing their cosy bubble.

We watched it last night. What a great interesting film I had no idea about this.
The actor who played the lead was amazing, and John rightly deserved his MBE.

Apparently it’s due for release this June. It’s called Neupulse

Visgirl. I haven't seen the film yet but intend to. The lead actor is a Hull lad and from the clips I have seen is amazing. It's nice to see my home town get positive recognition rather than the negative press it usually does.
