She was 96 and had a very long and productive life. I particularly liked her in the detective series, Hetty Wainwright.

I’ve been rewatching Hetty Wainthrop the past couple of weeks. Far more edgy and still relevant than I remembered it.

She had such a wonderful voice, too - clear diction, with a slight accent. Voices are important to me, and Ms Routledge's was splendid.

I’ve only just realised that Geoffrey became one of the Hobbits! I thought his face was familiar.

She will always be Hyacinth Bucket for me. I loved her.

I agree with you. A very distinctive voice. Having a recent sort through old CD's and DVD's, I found an Alan Bennet Talking Heads. Patricia Routledge is one of the actresses performing a monologue so I now have it in the car and have listened to it quite a few times.
