Proms

It only seems like yesterday that it was the last night! I only caught the very end of the New World Symphony but I must watch it again. I got quite emotional.

The last night of the Proms is Saturday 13 September this year.
The television coverage has been pretty sparse so far, as in previous years.

I agree. Considering it is the BBC Proms should be given more PROMinence. Not just sport and Glastonbury.
In Radio Times there is a pull out supplement but last night’s baroque concert was not even listed for last night, though it was on the daily pages of programmes. It was actually performed live last Sunday morning and broadcast live on Radio 3. The guide did say “ To be aired on BBC4”but no date was given. So glad I didn’t miss it.

I usually try to go to at least a couple of proms every year but I shall not be going to any this year. I only wish the BBC would devote even a fraction of the live coverage to the Proms as it gives to sporting events. The coverage seems to become less and less each year and more and more "popular" concerts seem to be on the programme.
