Lorraine and Loose Women being cut back

I’m not in the habit of watching either programme or any daytime TV at all aimed at women. In winter I will watch reruns of old favourites in the afternoon.

Lorraine advertises clothes on Bonmarche and probably other companies too. I don’t think she will be hit financially but of course her ego will. Loose Women is not a programme I watch as I don’t like most of the presenters. Penny Lancaster and Gloria are ok, together with Ruth. Otherwise I can take it or leave it.

The problem is these programmes aren't very popular and ITV is losing money at the moment. I don't think it's a gender thing as ITV have stopped covering the FA Cup as well, which is more popular with men.

I used to enjoy Loose Women but it really has gone down the proverbial pan in my opinion. It's time to close the 'shop' I think

Not the kind of TV that I watch so shan't miss it at all. If I were to watch TV during the day for whatever reason I'd stream something interesting.

Oh except I did used to like Homes Under the Hammer if I was off on a sick day.

Don’t watch Lorraine as I find her a bit annoying and although I watched Loose Women years ago when it first started I haven’t seen it for years and years So neither will be missed by me
I also see the One Show is being cut ( maybe temporary I m not sure)

The whole ITV lot have had it to good for to long.
Overpaid and full of their own self impotance.
Loose women talking men down that surly isnt right ??

GMTV Ed Balls presenting and interviewing politicions and his wife is in the cabinet,
Just not ideal.

Oh dear, you can't see the difference. Madely doesn't interview his politician wife, no bias especially as he's never been a Labour Chancellor as Balls has, now that is bias.

About time too

I do not particularly like Lorraine so don't watch her. Loose women the same. .

I remember Loose women being on the tv in the hospital ward I worked on -that was about 2003/4. It was a bit of a novelty at the time but the novelty wore of long long ago and I’d describe it as tacky.
Don’t watch Lorraine or any daytime type tv shows now, I find them shallow and tediously banal.
One exception though, I do enjoy Homes Under The Hammer I find it very bearable it still holds my attention.
A rethink about how much dosh is spent on quite mediocre content was long overdue for both our main stream broadcasters.

Homes Under The Hammer came to my home town a few years ago, where an ex council house on one of the town's poorest council estates was for sale for 25k. It's interesting as you never know where they'll go to in each show.

I did read in the Times it's all due to poor ratings. They said everyone was called to a meeting, then told. Apparently no one saw it coming? they have also moved them out of the normal studios.
Apparently BBC morning's shows have the most viewers.
The ITV breakfast News lost a significant number of viewers after Piers Morgan walked off.
Homes under the Hammer is the most popular morning programme. Personally I don't watch them, but have occasionally in the past.

I too cannot stand Lorraine's twee fake -friendly voice nor her simpering wanging-on about how cheap something is. When of course money is no object on her large salary! 😒

I don’t watch loose women or Lorraine as I don’t watch daytime tv . But I did go to a live screening of loose women many years ago . I don’t know who the main LW were but Janet Street Porter was one of the guest presenters and she was really interesting and was interested in the live audience and asking them questions.

She's bold, whip-smart, true to herself & she makes any debate worth listening to because of her incitful, intelligent observations.
If Loose women was just Janet Steet-Porter I might actually watch it, but then it would be Loose Woman, which doesn't really sound so good!🙃

Sure, as I said, it's not a programme I've ever watched, so the screening was a bit of an unknown ... spending a couple of hours listening to four women discussing - well, nothing much! I think hair was the main topic!
There was the usual practice of audience clapping and laughter at the beginning, to get everyone in the mood I guess. Christine Lampard was sort of in charge of the running order and kept checking her papers, there were 2 blond women (I don't know their names), and someone called Nadia who just wanted to talk about herself in a louder voice. Lots of silly giggling.
I came away underwhelmed. I usually appreciate a bit of well-timed humour, but this didn't hit the mark for me. Sorry.
This was 10 years ago, so maybe there's different women on the panel now.

I agree about Janet Street-Porter, an intelligent woman, too good for what is essentially an inane load of self absorbed nonsense at best and at worst plummets to slagging off men and general bitchiness.
