I’m embarrassed to admit that I was once in the Liberace fan club. My best friend and I weren’t interested in pop music, but everybody else was, so we compromised with Liberace, who was at least a proper pianist. It did get us a nice trip to London once, and a visit to the London Palladium, which was very exciting.

I was in the Beatles fan club. Sadly my parents wouldn't let me go to see them when we were in Blackpool cos they said I was too young. The 16-year old DD of the landlady was allowed to go and I was green with envy.

Yes I remember the floppy discs too - and I got a copy of John Lennon's poems. My DM chucked out all that stuff before I left home at 19, including my autograph book. I got loads of stars in it, the last being Barbara Windsor who I met buying fags (her, not me) at a kiosk near to the Palace in Manchester. She was absolutely lovely. She took my book back to the theatre and got lots of other autographs for me, including that of Ken Dodd.

The Rubettes. I even won one of their LPs - that's going back a bit!

My first one was the Pinky and Perky club!
When I was older I was in the David Cassidy fan club and the Bay City Rollers 😊

I was in the Leonard Nimoy fan club I had a huge crush on Mr Spock in Star Trek. I even went to a couple of conventions and met Dr McCoy at one of them smile

I was a little girl (maybe 7ish) when I adored Steve Hodson from Follyfoot so my mum sent off a postal order and joined his fan club for me. I was thrilled at the time. They do seem to be a thing of the past now. It's all online.

I was in the Beatles fan club. I still have my membership card (member no. 1852). I also have the first 24 Beatles Monthly magazines.
Do you remember at Christmas they sent us all floppy records with them talking and maybe singing a bit. I wish I still had mine - they might be worth a bit.
I also went to see them at Heathrow airport that famous day they came back from their first trip to the US. My friend pauline and I got on the first bus at about 5 am.
The next day we hung around Teddington studios waiting for them to arrive to record Big Night Out. We'd been quite regulars at that show on the odd Sunday so the lovely doorman recognised us and got us seats. We were SO thrilled!

My mother introduced me to the sweet teenage girls who lived nearby .
They were much older than I was and had been at work for a couple of years .
I had just hit puberty and was paralysed by shyness .
They were members of many fan clubs and I turned crimson when I asked when they went to their clubs .
They had to explain the concept to me !

How well I remember being chuffed to get a badge and letter from the Beatles’ fan club. Now, I have no idea if I paid anything ( postal order maybe?), but I do remember the stamped addressed envelope featuring, and we received things like innocent wee Q and As about their favourite ice cream etc.
Was anyone else a member, and are they still a thing?
