I've just finished watching Series 1 of The Village with Maxine Peake and John Simm. I thoroughly enjoyed it but one thing is bugging me. I'm sure the character of the disfigured Lord Allingham, has appeared in another book or film, even the detail of the staff & villagers having to turn their backs when they encounter him and keeping his face covered with the black silk. Maybe I've just got a case of deja vu. Can anyone help?
