How can Stu be a chef in a Pakistani restaurant and why doesn’t he cover his hair/ beard up whilst cooking? It’s way too straggly.

That scene in Speed Dahl! As if anyone would leave their handbag on a counter near the door, and walk off across the restaurant. And how convenient for Betsy that Mason's coat was nearby! Surely the staff would have their own place for coats?

Actually Clawdy, it never ceases to amaze me how careless some folk are with their handbags, purses, wallets.

Purses on open view in supermarket trollies whilst the owner wanders off looking at the shelves.

Handbags left on chairs or hanging on chair backs in restaurants whilst the owner goes to choose food or nip to the loo.

Anyhow, I digress from the Corrie thread!

Of course, what Mason should have done was a) produce the purse and either say it was in his coat pocket, put there by someone who wished him ill, or more likely b), pretend he had found it somehow obscured on the counter/floor.

I really hope not. I'm all for rehabilitation, but Corrie takes it to ridiculous extremes. He terrorised Liam and Dylan, but a few shifts in a restaurant reform his character, and they (presumably) will be expected to forgive and forget? What sort of message will that send to bullied boys, or parents struggling with knowing their sons are being bullied?

He's also had a spell in jail and experiencing being bullied himself. It's not all down to Stu.

Dylan still looks very wary of Mason.

You don't get over that fear of someone very quickly. I like Dylan. He and Sean are an odd but likeable family. The flat is very Sean!

I would be wary of Mason too. He's good looking in his way, but he does look like he'd happily knock you over and steal your phone.

I keep wondering if Dee Dee will let Lauren and the baby move in with her now the evil Joel has moved out.

Good call - that would keep them both in, and also bring in a new generation, along with Tyrone's toddler.

Don't forget Bertie. Daniel will miss Beth for babysitting cover.

Oh yes. I’d forgotten about Bertie. The poor little chap does seem to be left to his own devices a lot.

Poor Sean bends over backwards to please him, and Dylan, despite causing his dad lots of grief in the past, is a mardy little so and so.

He could do with packing off back to his mum for a bit.

It's an odd storyline, him opting to live with Sean instead of his mother,who brought him up on her own, and obviously loves him. And Sean is so irritating!

The actor who plays Dylan was the one (I think) who appeared in the last series of Last Tango In Halifax, as a young lad who Alan got involved with when he (Alan) was working in a supermarket.

It was a silly storyline, in fact it was a woeful end to an otherwise excellent series. Should have finished when it was still on a high.

Think that put me off the young actor for any future roles, which is probably not very fair of me.

Most teenagers can be hardly little so and sos at times, IME .

I agree that for many, the option to live with the fun-loving Violet in that London would trump sharing a flat (or a room in Eileen's house) with Sean on the cobbles - particularly when they are victims of bullying whilst there.

It will be interesting to see what the teens do about their exam results. Nobody ever goes away to university, or if they do something compels them to return and commute to a local one (which we never see) and where they never seem to make friends or have any sort of student life. The writers could do a lot to attract younger viewers if they gave more realistic storylines to the young characters, like they used to.

As a solicitor, Joel knows the system. I think he will try to persuade Swain that Dee Dee and Lauren have ganged up and concocted a web of lies about him. At the moment it is his word against theirs and fathering Lauren's baby is not an offence. Sarah needs to go to the police and admit she planted the forensic evidence in Nathan's van. I hope Betsy comes forward and tells her Mum about Joel.

Why did he want Nathan blamed for this? Did he know it was Joel?

Kit is a nasty character, he seems out to ‘get’ everybody.

When these complicated storylines go on for ages, I lose track. As I've said before, I only half watch anyway, which is my own fault, but I tend to be clearing up after dinner or doing life admin at that time, and the stories can usually be followed with half an eye/ear.

I don't know about anyone else, but I could do with a flashback or recap of the events that have led us to where we are with Lauren, Nathan, Joel, Kit et al. How are they all linked? Are they all linked?

My take on it is as follows. If anyone can correct any misconceptions please, that would be great:

Sarah is Bethany's mum, and Bethany was abused by Nathan, so Sarah tried to frame him for something he may or may not have done when on parole. Kit aided and abetted her in this endeavour, for reasons so far unknown.

Nathan is somehow connected to Joel, who has been abusing Lauren in a similar manner. Lauren has given birth to Joel's baby, who was conceived by sexual abuse, after he tried to induce an abortion, and after he physically assaulted Lauren. Joel is an unmitigated rotter, and his fiancé Dee Dee has got wise to this, albeit a bit late in the day, given that she is an intelligent woman used to dealing with criminals.

Daniel, who had a relationship with Bethany, has suspicions about Kit, who is a policeman, and also Bernie's long lost son. I share these suspicions, but wonder if there is a double bluff going on.

Is there a ring of abusers in the area? Is Kit in the pay of this ring, or is he a member of it? Or is he investigating it and primed to continue as a rozzer when they are all bang to rights?

DS Swain is the mother of Betsy, who is blackmailing Joel, so is also at risk from the possible ring. This will probably end badly, as Betsy is a peripheral character, and very annoying, so is likely to be a candidate for collateral damage, the trauma of which could propel her mother into the arms of Carla, who is currently living the life of a single woman whilst her alcoholic husband and stepson are sailing round the world.

Phew.

Thank goodness Leanne finally knows about Nick and Toyah- didn’t they share another man somewhere in the past? Let’s hope she runs away with Rowan to spend Amy’s inheritance somewhere else - she is getting sooo annoying .
