Bergerac set to return.

With that caste, who wouldn't want to watch it. I certainly do.

Didn't John Nettles appear in Poldark as someone's father or uncle? Maybe Aidan Turner asked him to to put in a good word should the Bergerac rôle come up for grabs!

Oh yes, he must have had a part - he's Cornish!

He played Ray Penvenen, uncle of heiress Caroline Penvenen who married the doctor, Dwight Enys.

Oh I loved Bergerac and his pretty french girlfriend. He was soooo young as was I! Such a watchable series and scenery.

Annette Badland as well?? I wonder what she is doing.

Didn't Annette Badland say how much she didn't like working on Bergerac?

Another vote for James Norton, although I don't think he'd want to be tied down too long for what could be an on going series.

Off to Jersey for the first time soon.

No, I'm not keen on him.

He is just not Bergerac.

I only saw the original once or twice so I don't have too many preconceived ideas of how Bergerac should be.

I'm currently swooning over Aiden Turner in Poldark. Him, please!

Like John Nettles, Terribull!!

Why remake? Just show the originals 🙂

I'll try and see a few of the originals if they are around somewhere before I go to Jersey. I know what you mean though about remakes Callistemon, sometimes the original can't be bettered.

All nine series are on ITVX Premium.

Is this going to be a resurrection set back in time like All Creatures Great And Small or a Miss Marple? If it's set in present day then it will be totally different as life has moved on so much since then. Loved the original series but not sure it will work now.

I wondered that too 25Avalon.

Update on my previous recommendation!!

Just watching 'Grace' on ITVX (don't know how we missed it the first time around a few years ago) and was immediately struck at John Simm's resemblance to John Nettles. He'd make a fabulous Jim Bergerac if Will Mellor isn't available!!
