I am no fan of Russell Brand, never have been. However I am not comfortable with this ongoing trial by media. As of this moment in time, there has not been one single report been made to the police, either in London or Los Angeles. All the victims are anonymous - and were played by actors in the documentary, accompanied by suitably mournful music. I found this to be extremely manipulative. Kevin Spacey's career was destroyed as a result of similar allegations - and he was found not guilty in a court of law. Brand is not even under investigation, let alone facing any charges at this stage. But of course the pile-on has started, his publisher has dropped him and no doubt other companies associated with him have followed suit. I have no idea whether or not these allegations are true or not, although I do have an issue with the amount of time that has lapsed since the alleged offences - between 10 and 17 years ago. Just as it would likely be impossible to prove he is guilty of these offences in a court of law, it is also now impossible for him to prove his innocence.
