I agree. I mentioned it on another thread re David Tennant. We watched it and also the previous series. Wonderful acting. I believe it was based on the experience of the writer or someone connected with the programme's personal experience.

It must be written by someone who really knows what life's like for families like this. It should have a Bafta!

How do they do it, these families, it was painful to watch at times.

A painful but very educational watch, very well acted, and clearly grounded in reality. I have enormous sympathy and respect for any family who have experienced or are experiencing such trauma. Heart-breaking. .

Have recorded to watch later. I had a feeling that I’d seen something very like this drama before tho a couple of years ago.
Does anyone remember? A little girl with spectrum disorder of some kind, I even thought the Father was David Tennant.

Yes Oreo. There she goes was a series first. We watched it. I can't remember when it was, a couple of years ago. It was written by Shaun Pye whose daughter has a chromosomal disorder. I'm not sure who he is.

We were applauding the incredible talent of David Tennant .
I don't know if he'd accept / or is up for a gong - he deserves one .

The mother's painful speech about 13 years of her life being blamed for her daughter's various problems haunted me. Also their arms. I remember being horrified when an elderly lady told me that she always wore long sleeves as her arms were covered with bruises and scratches. Respite was a dream.
The families being so thrilled to meet each other was so touching and entirely understandable. The relief that they're not the only ones must be enormous.

Yes Aveline. Most of us have no idea. Friends of ours have a daughter, now in her 40s, with similar problems to Rosie, though not so severe. They deal with their situation remarkably well.

I agree, it was a gripping if uncomfortable watch. But that was the point. Gongs for both David Tennant and Jessica Hynes.
