Galaxy
I am not sure I am defending him but I cant understand how anyone is surprised. There was bound to be some impact from what happened in their childhood, I dont mean just his mothers death but all the unending mess that preceded it.
I agree with you Galaxy but would add that judging from my experience of teaching in a deprived area when I was working, there are a great many children who suffer as much and more terrible experiences during their childhood, and they do not have the wealth and privilege that Harry enjoyed to buffer them from these experiences. Take for example the five year old I taught, whose father stabbed his best friend to death over a slice of pizza, in the flat where this child was sleeping in the next room. The police and emergency services came with all the attendant noise and confusion and the father was of course arrested and subsequently convicted and imprisoned. A distraught mother, a missing father, blood everywhere, police, social workers, a tiny flat, no garden, a life on benefits.
I’m sorry, but I find it very difficult to have any sympathy for Harry with his hard done by stories.
