Doc Martin - Final Ever Episode

Is it just me but after spending years watching and loving and even visiting Port Wenn (Isaac), I felt that the final episode ever had a totally disappointing ending. They were sending magic lanterns into the sky which are known to be wholly damaging to wildlife, property and nature and I believe may also be banned in some places. One returned and set the public Christmas tree on fire. Are these producers infantile or just plain stupid? For me, bad final message and total let down of a once favourite series. Am I missing something?!

Well I enjoyed it! I recorded it over Christmas and we have just got around to watching it this evening.
Although I do see the points made about the lanterns, they were only a very small part of the programme as a whole, right at the end.
It would be a shame if anyone was put off watching it for that reason alone.
The ‘behind the scenes’ programme last week was very enjoyable too.

I must admit it took me a while to get into Doc Martin when it first appeared years ago. Initially I thought it was silly with too many daft characters but it grew on me until I was eagerly awaiting the next series.

It’s got a huge world wide following apparently.
I shall miss it.

I shall miss it too. The lanterns were only a tiny part and anyway did show what can happen when it set the Christmas tree alight.
A truly lovely programme.

I really enjoyed the documentary about the making of Doc Martin which was broadcast this week.

We've yet to see the final episode.

With regard to the ‘behind the scenes’ programme, I’m sure a lot of Daily Mail readers would have recognised the name of the programme’s medical consultant, Dr. Martin Scurr.
He has a weekly column in the paper, answering readers’ medical questions, as well as commenting on the current situation with GPs.

He has always seemed a very compassionate man, of the old school when doctors went the extra mile, unlike today when they have apparently voted to just work 9 to 5, and just two or three days a week.
