We watched this, Allsorts. Just as perplexed as you. I thought the idea was a good one. Daughter who was sucked into social media etc etc. I was surprised to hear she was 17, I'd thought it might have been a younger girl.

As for Kate Winslet's character, I just couldn't stand her. I'm not surprised the girl had problems. She was infuriating and appeared to be clueless.

Shame, good idea, rotten programme.

I haven’t watched it yet but it has very good reviews.

Has anyone else watched this? I kept waiting for any dialogue that told me what was happening but it never came. Was there ever a mother as annoying as Ruth, talking to her daughter as if she were two. Then her son arrives and she’s the same with him, all sorry, sorry, I love you and all in such I depressing low monotonous voice. Freya only looked sullen and wild all the way through. What was the point of it. Am I missing something?
Must admit I did not listen to the last bit, thought it must too late to redeem itself, I read somewhere it was about telephone addiction, but you wouldn’t have guessed that. The only thing I did get out if it is that few could be that annoying as a mother. Are there really mothers like that?
