The final episode was very good, much better overall than the previous five episodes imo. The mustard gas fight outside the pub was brilliantly staged, the sight of Arthur and Jeremiah in those gas masks was chilling. And how sad was the effect it had on them, I think it really brought home the horror of having lived through fighting in the trenches of WW1.
I still have a few niggles though, how did they find out/know Billy was a traitor? And was it not just a bit too coincidental that the doctor’s estate was where Tommy had made camp, so had quick access to him when he realised the truth?
But mostly, I really wish they’d stop the slo-mo bits, that’s been very over-done throughout this series.
Like others have said, I’m looking forward to the film, if only to see the downfall of the loathsome Mr & Mrs Mosley.
