So, fellow fans, what do we think of the lineup? A very mixed bunch, personally only know of five, I’m sure we will soon have our favourites. Can’t wait for the glitz and glamour to brighten the long dark nights looming?

Calendargirl Sun 17-Oct-21 07:46:36

I agree about Greg’s outfit Grannymac.

It did nothing for him, or the dance. Made his bottom look big, perhaps it is, but it emphasised it. And the loose trousers. He seems to have been dressed in the same type of outfit each week.

Perhaps the wardrobe department aren’t keen on him.

GrannyMacawell Sun 17-Oct-21 07:57:41

Though oddly looking forward to seeing it again in the dance off..because it was so hideous.....actually johns outfit wasnt great either..so boring. Loved rose's and AJ's...need them to do housework in!

Grandmabatty Sun 17-Oct-21 08:00:31

I thought it was quite a disappointing week. The strong dancers didn't produce the goods. Too much non American smooth in John and Johannes dance, AJ wasn't great, Rhys was frantic and Adam lacked finesse. I know, it's only week four! Sara was the most assured and I enjoyed her tango. Greg was poor and should be going but that'll depend on his votes. I thought Tilly was stompy at times and Dan was quite awkward. I wonder if Judi will be in the bottom two again.

GrannyMacawell Sun 17-Oct-21 08:06:38

A good summary Grandma!

Gwyneth Sun 17-Oct-21 08:23:39

I thought Sara was way above all the other dancers tonight. A beautiful dance.

TillyTrotter Sun 17-Oct-21 08:59:18

There are a few “weak” dancers, but otherwise it’s anyone’s game. Depending on the dances each week, and the amount of time celebs have to train, our views change on who has done the most accomplished performance. Some of the dances are harder to master than others for sure.

Mollygo Sun 17-Oct-21 09:36:11

Not the best week for several dancers and Greg’s loose trousers didn’t improve his dance. Don’t the costume dept like him or doesn’t he like tight trousers?
Loved Sarah’s dance and thought Adam’s lifts were amazing. Missed Judi’s dance-I went to make a cuppa once the backstory started.
I got AJ’s dance wrong because I thought it was good.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 17-Oct-21 11:12:02

Agree about a disappointing week Grandmabatty it often is after a theme week.

Millie22 Sun 17-Oct-21 12:02:10

I really liked Adam's AT this week although there wasn't much actual dancing. Rose is doing incredibly well also. I just laughed through all of Greg's dance. Those trousers were like 3 sizes too big.

kissngate Sun 17-Oct-21 15:19:58

Loved Sara who was outstanding, also Tom and Rhys. Didn't like Tilly, AJ, John, Dan or Greg and thought the marks were too generous all round. However it's not just a dance competition but a popularity contest which always affects the votes.

Charleygirl5 Sun 17-Oct-21 16:00:46

That, unfortunately, is the problem, some are more popular than others. I rarely vote but if I did it would not be for Judi because I do not have a clue who she is or where she works.

Some have also had some dance training which never leaves once one was taught.

I was amazed to discover Sara is only about 37- I thought she was closer to 50!

I also have no idea who Greg is but I think he will be going home this evening.

TillyTrotter Sun 17-Oct-21 16:08:21

Greg is an actor Charley, but just as famous for being the husband of actress Emma Thompson.

There are rumours flying around that Adam seemed to nearly kiss Katya at the end of their sultry dance - I guess they really were “in the zone” and forgot where they were. Katya has been in this position before with a Comedian she danced with a few years ago whose name I forget now ……… (I think they call it “the Strictly curse”).

Nannatwiglet Sun 17-Oct-21 19:31:01

Is it just me or are this years Strictly costumes somewhat dark and dowdy…? For example…black, navy, brown.. Where are the bright colours? Pastel coloured frills did nothing for Greg!

However, all the dancers-and the dancing - are brilliant!

Calendargirl Sun 17-Oct-21 19:36:53

Really enjoyed Westlife.

GrannyMacawell Sun 17-Oct-21 19:41:53

Looking forward to Greg again!

Mollygo Sun 17-Oct-21 19:51:13

Looking forward to seeing AJ do the Argentine Tango next week. DH is using the pause/fast forward to miss all the bits of Strictly he doesn’t like tonight. It’s saved a lot of complaints.

Calendargirl Sun 17-Oct-21 19:56:32

Thank goodness we won’t have to see those trousers again! I think they have grown bigger from last night. They were practically trailing on the floor!

TillyTrotter Sun 17-Oct-21 19:58:18

The right couple went tonight.

Sweetpeasue Sun 17-Oct-21 19:59:53

Oh definitely right couple went. Look forward to next week's routines.

Grannynannywanny Sun 17-Oct-21 20:03:39

I agree, definitely the right couple gone. I feel instead of making progress Greg’s performance went downhill week by week.

Josianne Sun 17-Oct-21 20:09:22

Right decision.
I agree Calendargirl, Westlife still have it!

Sweetpeasue Sun 17-Oct-21 20:29:08

I thought so too Grannynannywanny. Greg's performance looked absolutely painful, I actually felt sorry for him--he looked so uncomfortable. Judy made mistakes in her waltz but she had a certain elegance in that and her sincerity shone through. She will be the weakest dancer left now (IM0 I should add) but no denying she's got entertainment value. Dan was very lucky to survive too, he will have lots of followers I'm sure.

Grandmabatty Sun 17-Oct-21 20:44:58

I completely agree that Greg had to go. I don't think Judi has enough energy reserves though. She didn't use much of the dance floor and was gasping for breath. A waltz is relatively sedate compared to a jive. The choreography is masking this and therefore her dances aren't very exciting hence the low votes

Grannynannywanny Sun 17-Oct-21 20:48:14

I agree about Judi Sweetpeasue. I don’t think she’ll survive beyond next week. Dan may well have a big fan base who are all voting to keep him going regardless of his dance abilities.

Judi is not going to be able to cope with more exciting choreography - lifts or high energy dancing. I've noticed she doesn't actually move her feet much - as you say Grandmabatty she didn't cover much of the dance floor. I was concerned the other week when she was gasping for breath long after they'd finished dancing. It would only be fair for her or Dan to go next week as the others are all becoming proficient dancers.

Did someone say that Sara is only 35? I thought she was much older than that.
