Yes - finally. About to start tonight. 7 episodes. This is in my top three of great crime drama series. The Bridge is second with Shetland third.

The phone will be on silent and MrM had better not interrupt my pleasure. I think he's tempted to watch it though.

Jed Mercurio never ceases to come up with a great story line. Series 3 was probably be best so far for me.

Thanks Seacliff for no spoilers. I'm watching Unforgotten tomorrow. I've just caught up with LoD tonight. Brilliant.

MrM hasn't seen any of the other series and is keen to watch this one with me hmm
BlueBell I've seen every series twice through and was amazed at how much I missed first time round.

I'm sure it will be a scene stealer when Steve does recognise Ryan. Bet it won't be face to face.

Oh, all those loose ends to tie up in the final episode. I can’t wait. Steve will surely recognise Ryan the Rat when he gets to see him. I hope that he finds a good physio to sort out his back spasms though otherwise it is early retirement for him.

Re Arnott's back pain, I'm just wondering if he will be bumped off because there's a bleak future for him otherwise. Young man addicted to painkillers? I think Arnott may soon be for the chop.

If anyone is interested in a bit of vintage bent copper hunting I have just watched episode 1 of Between the Lines with Neil Pearson. It’s on BBC iplayer. .

Eloethan Tue 30-Mar-21 00:29:23

Between the Lines was advertised at the end of Line of Duty and I switched over to watch it. I thought it was very dated and not at all engaging. The main characters were definitely familiar to me and I'm sure I watched it at the time and enjoyed it.

trisher Tue 30-Mar-21 09:46:56

If anyone is going my money's on Kate. Shes going to realise who that young copper really is, then......
I wondered how addicted to the pain killers Steve really is, or was the attack at the house just to see how long it takes for the info to get back to Hastings?

tanith Tue 30-Mar-21 10:05:57

Steve saw Hastings meet up with Steph maybe he’s suspicious and sent her to the car so he could plant a bug in her house.

Great quiz! I got 22/27 - amazed at myself! Didn't reealise how much info had actually sunk in wink

Calendargirl Mon 05-Apr-21 07:24:37

Poor Steve and his back!

He needs a bit of mothering.

Don’t know if Kate has lost weight in RL, but I find her hollow cheeks make her look very severe.

grandmajet Mon 05-Apr-21 07:29:42

I thought that about Kate, Calendargirl, she needs to eat a few Easter eggs.
Also, yes, poor Steve, I want bouncy little Steve back on our screens. He should seek help.
Ted is sad too.
Oh dear, come on, you three, cheer up!

tanith Mon 05-Apr-21 07:45:09

So much went on in last nights episode I’m going to have to watch it again to get it all in my head. That prison guard who broke Farida’s wrist hasn’t been seen since she poured boiling water over Lindsey Denton's hands way back.
It certainly makes you take notice.

Atqui Mon 05-Apr-21 08:54:24

Sorry Me again with a question. Where did Ted get money that he gave to Steph?

Calendargirl Mon 05-Apr-21 08:59:56

Atqui

Sorry Me again with a question. Where did Ted get money that he gave to Steph?

It was the money the OCG gave Ted to bribe him.

Atqui Mon 05-Apr-21 09:26:39

Thanks Calendargirl. I thought I’d caught up but I think I’ve missed too much from previous series .

Chestnut Mon 05-Apr-21 09:48:50

Twitter has gone into meltdown with people spotting the H in the kitchen tiles!

Welshwife Mon 05-Apr-21 14:34:03

I thought Kate and Steve did realise who Ryan Pilkingron was - they were looking at photos of him - Steve mentioned how he nearly cut his fingers off.

Iam64 Mon 05-Apr-21 15:10:46

Yes, they know he was OCG.

Chestnut Mon 05-Apr-21 15:51:38

Kate thought she recognised Ryan and when the car incident happened they checked him out on the database, realised who he was and that he has been with the OCG all along.
I'm glad Kate explained how Ryan had managed to get into the Police force because I was wondering that! No convictions since he was a child and so had dropped off the system. Hmm.....I'd say the system needs reforming!

Sarah Hughes in the Guardian does a great summary and analysis for those who might be a bit confused (including me!)
www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2021/apr/04/line-of-duty-recap-series-six-episode-three-bbc
I find reading it adds to my enjoyment of the series and the comments by other readers are also entertaining!

Eloethan Mon 05-Apr-21 16:22:23

I was wondering who it was that reportedly "mentored" Ryan. He/she didn't do a very good job - or perhaps he/she did !

tanith Mon 05-Apr-21 16:29:51

That would be PC Simon Banerjee who met Ryan when he and his mates were harassing an elderly man on their estate. He did seem genuinely a good guy but you never can tell with LOD.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 06-Apr-21 11:37:10

I'm on tenterhooks wondering what's going to happen next. With Buckells being questioned, that horrid little squirt Pilkington being rumbled by Kate and Steve, and the young WPC with her broken wrist - just how far do the tentacles of the OCG and bent coppers reach?
We're only on episode 3!

muse Tue 06-Apr-21 11:50:38

Caught up with 3 last night. Brilliant. Watched it without MrM this week. He's new to the LoD and asks so many questions so will watch it again with him. The hour just flew by.

Buckells is too soft to be bent wink. Pretty sure that warden that broke the WPCs wrist was the one that poured scolding hot water over Lindsay Denton's hand.

tanith Tue 06-Apr-21 11:56:48

muse it was her I did mention it in a previous post. I’m going to watch it again there was too much to take in in one sitting.

tanith Tue 06-Apr-21 11:58:36

Oh forgot I meant to ask what anyone makes of all those locks on Davidson’s flat? It’s a very posh flat by the way for a DI.

Just read that Sarah Hughes died ( cancer) the day after this was published. I’d enjoyed reading it and looked forward to more. ?
