Yes - finally. About to start tonight. 7 episodes. This is in my top three of great crime drama series. The Bridge is second with Shetland third.

The phone will be on silent and MrM had better not interrupt my pleasure. I think he's tempted to watch it though.

Jed Mercurio never ceases to come up with a great story line. Series 3 was probably be best so far for me.

My daughter and I have got our drinks ready and told OH to use his cinema voice if he watches with us. We live near a busy main road but at the moment there are none on the road. It feels like most of the UK is getting ready for this final episode! We’re so excited!

Subtitles will help with any problems in trying to understand words or follow the plot!

DiscoDancer Do you mean you started Series 1 or Series 6? If Series 6 then I hope you have seen Series 1-5 as it's essential. It is very helpful to use subtitles when watching as the pace of dialogue and acronyms make it hard to follow sometimes.

Yes, we’ve seen all the series and started the latest last night. I know they’ve always used more jargon than even actual police documentaries, but there seemed to be an abundance last night. When the credits came up, we were told what CHIS was then! It was like they realised we were probably overloaded.

Alioop I keep asking Alexa to play the theme tune, much to the annoyance of my husband!

Oh yes, we do love the music...very dramatic, but found it was overpowering at times when we were trying to hear dialogue.

I know this is twenty pages long, but we started watching last night. After five minutes, we thought about putting the subtitles on, but decided to persevere. We paused numerous times for a house meeting....mainly to try and work out what the acronyms stood for! Although the Scottish policewoman seemed to shout all the time...we couldn’t follow her. We assumed it was just us, hearing not so good...that sort of thing. However, our son said it’s not great until episode three, when it all kicks off ( his words).
We’ve watched all the others and enjoyed, so will persevere.

I’m just so excited - my dd has just invested in an aquarium and one of the (6) fish has been named DI Kate Fleming ( another one is called Nchips ?)

Maggiemaybe Sun 02-May-21 09:27:24

I am. I’ve got the tonic chilling to go with the restorative gin. I think a selection of soothing snacks might be in order as well.

Iam64 Sun 02-May-21 08:55:58

Oh no! I’m not preparing for anything dreadful happening to the three musketeers.

tanith Sun 02-May-21 08:20:16

Well Iam64 I listen to Craig Parkinsons podcast and saw his interview where he told fans who are invested in our trio to ‘be prepared’ when watching tonight’s episode. I’m prepared that one of them won’t make it to the end of the series.
I hope I’m wrong as it wouldn’t be the same if one is missing, but maybe that would be a reason not to continue with a new series.

Iam64 Sun 02-May-21 08:11:54

Tanith!!!
Do you have inside info? Is the wee donkey out?
