Anyone else watching the above? I know its trash tv, but I look forward to it every year. My husband cant bear to be in the same room while I’m watching it!

Ellianne Tue 17-Nov-20 22:32:44

Yes Hetty, I find myself laughing with them, as well as at them in a nice way!

Bathshe Tue 17-Nov-20 22:43:09

I watch it. Quite entertaining.

Vintager Tue 17-Nov-20 23:33:16

I watch it every year and am enjoying seeing a new setting (although I see a resemblance to Crystal Maze).
I like seeing the relationships develop too and don’t mind the trials. Ant and Dec are hilarious and I love their banter. Looking forward to seeing what else unfolds. Needing the escapism to be honest.

I’m enjoying it. Good escapism and distraction from worries for a while. I did cringe at Shane Ritchie’s account of his evening spent go-karting with Tom Cruise and how the waiting paparazzi were there for him not Tom as he was in the middle of a high profile from Coleen Nolan. Seriously??

Anyone else concerned to see them washing the raw chickens under running water at the well??

Watching anything that cheers me up at the moment, and this does. They seem a nice lot this year and I'm loving it.

Love it! It made me laugh and I really need that escapism at the moment.

Jane10 Wed 18-Nov-20 09:37:29

Ant and Dec are such cheeky wee things. They always cheer me up far less the contestants.

mbody Wed 18-Nov-20 09:40:27

First time I’ve ever watched it and used lockdown as the driver excuse!! I’m totally hooked!!!

mbody Wed 18-Nov-20 09:41:00

Sorry, don’t know where “driver” came from.

Ellianne Wed 18-Nov-20 11:23:13

Oh yes, Crystal Maze Vintager. It is a bit like that.

Ziggy62 Wed 18-Nov-20 11:27:50

my husband loves it, I cant cope with the eating bits so I'm getting lots of lovely cosy early nights

DanniRae Wed 18-Nov-20 13:05:16

Mr R always says he would do anything but the eating ones and I would do anything but sn**kes - heights - coffins - insects down my knickers - Oh! not much left for me. Good job they never ask to go on the show - not yet anyway! grin

I am loving Jordan.
Never heard of him before but he is a great role model for sensitive men.

And "shit take" mushrooms was hilarious.

crazyH Thu 19-Nov-20 23:14:34

Yes "shit take" mushrooms - ????sweet boy.....

Grannynannywanny Thu 19-Nov-20 23:17:58

I liked Ant and Dec’s joke later saying Jordan had made a mistaky in his pronunciation!

Poor Jordan, he’ll not be allowed to forget that one for a while.

They're an amusing collection of people this time. Does anyone else feel Mo is out of his depth a bit? He's nice enough, but a bit slow on the uptake. Maybe I'll be eating my words when he does his trial

Jane10 Fri 20-Nov-20 08:26:54

I agree Ellianne he does seem to be a bit out of the gang. Doesn't get jokes etc. It's not that they aren't nice to him he just doesn't seem part of it.

Grannynannywanny Fri 20-Nov-20 08:49:21

I’ve felt the same about Mo. But I feel he’ll excel when it comes to the challenges.

Does anyone find the repeated use of “you’ve got this” ever so slightly annoying?

It's preferable to "get in there" Gnw!

Watched the first one but it hasn’t made me want to watch more. Pleased that it is in Wales though as it will boost tourism. I hope that once this virus has gone they keep this programme in the UK. There are so many lovely historic venues that would love the revenue that this programme and subsequent visitors brings. We need t9 look after the UK as much as possible.

DanniRae Fri 20-Nov-20 09:17:23

Just watched last nights programme and just LOVED IT!! It was so full of joy......to be honest I shed a tear. Jordan conquering his fears and NOT being chosen for the next trial because he got 12 stars (have to be honest here - I could not eat squirrel - I'd have been vegetarian last night). Then them getting all their luxury items because of Ruthie and Russell's efforts. I agree that Mo seems not quite with it but he seems happy enough to be there grin
So glad that I am enjoying it - I wasn't sure at first about it being in a cold castle - but now it gives me something to look forward to when I get up. (I get too sleepy to watch it at night!)

shysal Fri 20-Nov-20 09:43:14

Mo made me laugh when they were listing parts of the body beginning with the letter N. He suggested knee and knob! I don't know whether English is his first language.

MissAdventure Fri 20-Nov-20 10:43:32

I'm a bit cynical, perhaps, but I wonder if Jordan is playing on his fears so he can be lauded for overcoming them.

He does seem a genuinely sweet person though, and I love him and Shane's burgeoning friendship.

Grannynannywanny Fri 20-Nov-20 11:14:45

MissAdventure my friend had similar suspicion about Jordan. She said at the start “give it a few episodes and he’ll suddenly be the conquering hero!

Ellianne Fri 20-Nov-20 11:23:45

Maybe someone in the castle will sneakily raise the question. Victoria is pretty astute. I think most of the men aren't interested in being bitchy, not like some years.
