Well we traditionally have a thread - so I am starting one.

All mothers of contestants are strictly (!!!) barred!

I'm rooting for JJ Chalmers! (I hope that's his name)

Right decision. Surprised it wasn't 3-0.

Grannynannywanny Sun 29-Nov-20 20:08:15

I’m sorry to see Clara leave. I think she peaked with her outstanding Charleston and hasn’t quite hit the mark since.

mokryna Sun 29-Nov-20 20:04:31

Oh good !

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 20:02:51

Clara's routine much more full-on than Jamie's. Jamie had a long intro with the chess pieces, and was mostly just striding around whereas Clara had a hectic routine.

EllanVannin Sun 29-Nov-20 19:59:18

She looked like Lucille Ball crushing the grapes, hahahaha.

EllanVannin Sun 29-Nov-20 19:58:10

Clara's feet were on the flat side last night. I was listening to her clomping about grin

Ellianne Sun 29-Nov-20 19:56:18

It was nice they called Maisie out first as going through.

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 19:54:27

Ooh, Gary Barlow's looking a bit of a cool dude with his slicked back hair.

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 19:50:40

Yes, JJ should have been in the dance off, and then perhaps Clara would have beaten him. Not sure of the outcome v. Jamie.

Grannynannywanny Sun 29-Nov-20 19:47:26

I’m not a fan of Jamie and Karen but their tango was fab last night. They shouldn’t be in the dance off. JJ has done well but I feel he’s run his course and it would have been a fairer outcome if he was in the dance off. Poor Clara I think will be going home.

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 19:46:51

I got the impression from Clara, though, that her rehearsal had gone much better than her dance on the night, so maybe she will pull it out of the bag.

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 19:45:56

The Greatest Dancer couple - f a b u l o u s !

Puzzler61 Sun 29-Nov-20 19:43:49

I think so, and Clara looks as if she knows she will be in the dance off. She can’t win against Jamie unless he makes mistakes.

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 19:40:14

So JJ is through.

Will it be Jamie v. Clara ?

Grannynannywanny Sun 29-Nov-20 19:39:36

Yikes! Jamie in the dance off??

Ellianne Sun 29-Nov-20 13:32:16

Parsley3

I am rooting for Bill but I was bowled over by HRVY’s light show. I was worried that they were going topple over the edge.

He he Parsley. It's all cleverly done with video images on screens set into the floor.
I got a long explanation last night from DH who was lighting designer at The Haymarket Theatre Royal (in the days when lighting wasn't computerised and all done by hand!)

Mine too dogsmother

dogsmother Sun 29-Nov-20 12:08:04

My two favourite dancers remain Ranvir and Harvey.

gillgran Sun 29-Nov-20 11:39:29

I'm still enjoying watching Strictly, I love the whole thing, lighting, setting, clothes, music, (& the dancing, of course!).
It's cheering during these dark times.

Puzzler61 Sun 29-Nov-20 11:38:41

In past 5 years there has been only 1 female winner - Stacey Dooley. I wonder if there are more women watching and voting and they give their votes to men? That may be too simplistic? Many think it is harder for a celebrity male to dance well and lead, than a celebrity female.

Sparklefizz Sun 29-Nov-20 11:28:24

Ellianne I gather Maisie plays a cocky nasty bit-of-work in Eastenders so maybe people confuse her with the part she plays. I could be wrong as I don't watch EE.

Ellianne Sun 29-Nov-20 10:22:21

I really can't understand why Maisie is seen, especially by younger people, as being up herself and full of her own importance. I might be biased because my DD is an Essex girl, but in the video clips Maisie is neither cocky nor arrogant, she just wants to try her hardest. I do hope she is safe this week.

I am sure one of my Aunts had those curtains in the 60s.

MawBe Sun 29-Nov-20 09:44:59

“Tess looked like a half-wrapped Quality Street.... not a classy dress at all.”
Hear, hear!
I’m afraid wondered if Motsi had had to do a Sound of Music job with her drawing room curtains.
