Latest film you've seen at Cinema, and would you recommend?

We watched Stan and Ollie the other evening on dvd. Absolutely superb. You don't even have to enjoy Laurel and Hardy films.

Downforce Abbey thoroughly enjoyable

Last film was 'Judy'. Very well done but very shocking to see how she was treated as a commodity in her early life.

We saw 'Stan and Ollie' a while ago and also thought it was well acted but also very sad in a different way.

Agree threexnanny. Both those films are excellent but so sad.

Saw Le Mann ‘66 long but lots of fun. If you like car racing (not F1) it is a must watch.

Last two films I saw quite recently, "Judy". Renee Zellwegger was very good in the title role, but I didn't enjoy it that much certainly not as good imo as the Elton John and Freddie Mecury biopics. The other film, was "The Goldfinch" not that well received by the critics, nevertheless, having read and loved the book, I enjoyed it and was glad I went to see it.

We saw 'Judy' it was Ok but not memorable.

Yesterday is great.

Went to see The Good Liar last week. Helen Mirren and Ian Mc Kellan. I really enjoyed it. My husband thought it was alright?

Bait Cornish villagers in conflict with tourists. British, recent 2019, B&W , bit arty. Mmm. Quirky.

Delicatessen : French, 1991, Black comedy. Post apocalypse, not bad actually.

Downton Abbey predictable, too long, Maggie Smith good if you like MS

Green Book 1918. Road movie, North to Deep South. An Italian/NY drives African/ American Jazz musician to venues in the heart of racist South of 1962. Viggo Mortensen brilliant as the Italian driver.

Dr Sleep (if you are a King fan), good sequel to The Shining. The Good Liar , my husband and I really enjoyed that one. If you are a Bruce Springsteen fan, I recommend the special screening of Western Stars. It does not have the E Street Band, but his wife Patti Scialfa performs some songs with him.

2040 last Sunday, a film about how if we implement certain innovations already in existence we can drastically cut emissions of CO2 and have more enjoyable lifestyles.
Unfortunately it was on for 1 night only but hopefully be on tv before too long.

Saw 'Farmageddon' at half term and laughed all the way through. Apart from that haven't been to the cinema for about 18 months.

Saw Aeronauts yesterday. It was ok, quite enjoyed it, but a bit far-fetched even though it is said to be 'based on fact'.

I will second Farmageddon, grandparents (us) and 2 small grandsons loved it.
We all came out with a big smile.?
It was quite a chuckle fest, light humour for the wee ones and a bit of humour for the adults that went straight over our Grandson's heads.

I went to see The Irishman, at a local, small theatre last Saturday. 3.5 hours long, and although it was good, I found it hard to follow the story.

The Joker - brilliant. Well acted, well-directed, and a real story I could actually follow and sympathise with.

Oh yes Terribull, saw The Goldfinch, and loved it. Thought it much better than the book.
Going to see The Good Liar at the weekend; not had good reviews though. We shall see, but hopeful now that I have seen that some people thought it was ok.

Last Christmas. Thought it was sweet and amusing. I know it got panned by the critics but there you go, nice excuse for meet up with friends.

Saw Farmageddon with 2 grandchildren - very amusing, though rather long

La Belle Epoque was quite quirky, but again, amusing

An unexpectedly free afternoon on Monday, so DH and I went to see "Le Mans 66: Ford -v- Ferrari". It's brilliant, if rather noisy, and the lead actors (Christian Bale and Matt Damon" are superb. It's quite long, about two and a half hours, but it seemed to fly by. Even if motor racing isn't your thing, the interplay between the racing people and the Ford Suits is very interesting.
