I know some of you like me are fans of this Aussie soap.
A new series starts on Tuesday 13th March on BBC 1 at 2.15.
I'm just a little bit excited smile

We were late comers to this programme so had many series to catch up on and then became hooked, watching an episode each night! Looking forward to this one too.

Loving this! Binge watched series 1 on catch up, series 2 on some random internet site, just read the episode breakdown for series 3 and am into series 4 now! Must do some housework after this next episode grin

I watch catch up on my iPad mini in the privacy of my own room - which has nothing at all to do with keeping certain of my viewing habits private from dh

Jalima1108 Sat 17-Mar-18 16:48:31

on!

Jalima1108 Sat 17-Mar-18 16:48:19

grin
I would watch it on catch-up but the flippin' rugby is one.

What's more important?
I suppose I could read the synopses in the meantime, good idea.

It may be a 'period' soap but many of the houses are still the same - not the very large one, I have never seen one like that, the wooden Queenslander type.

maryeliza54 Sat 17-Mar-18 16:44:07

I am btw not at all over invested in this soap

maryeliza54 Sat 17-Mar-18 16:43:20

I watched series 1-3 then missed 4 so before I started watching 5 I read up the synopses for 1-3 because I knew I would have forgotten important details then watched 4 on catch up and am now (hardly ever) confused in series 5, with which I am up to date?

I am enjoying this series. The outdoor scenes are fine but I'm finding the indoor ones very dark - to such an extent that I can't see the characters.

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Mar-18 18:06:44

I used to love The Sullivans, another great Aussie period soap which was on at lunch-times about 38 years ago.

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Mar-18 18:05:40

I have set them to record now, have watched the first one and will have to watch the second on catch-up.
However, I'm still a bit confused because I must have missed a series - I first watched it in Australia and thought we would be behind here.

Sunlover Fri 16-Mar-18 16:31:18

I've watched series 1 and 2 but missed series 3. Can't find it on catch up. Any ideas if it's on anywhere else such as Netflix or Amazon Prime?

Welshwife Fri 16-Mar-18 15:56:17

This is a new series - 5 I think.

Franbern Fri 16-Mar-18 15:33:51

I think I missed series 1, but have watched all the rest. I record them, (as I do most tv) so can watch at my leisure. They did bring everything to such a satisfactory closure at the end of the last series (which finished last week), I was not too sure if this weeks lot was a new one or a repeat, but it is a continuation, four years later.
I do really enjoy looking at the fashions from the 1950's, I used to love those tight waisted, full skirted dresses back then. Now, I really wonder how I wandered around in such high heels all of the time!!
Regina must be the most evil of female soap characters, we get a lot of male ones in UK soaps, but she is up with the worst of those. She has now killed at least twice, and threatened others. Still feel a little sorry that she was not caught out with the murder of that extremely right wing policeman, who she used so much.
I am most impressed at their obvious in depth research into Jewish religion practices. UK soaps, tend to skim research and often get so much wrong.
Good, easy to watch afternoon television - although I usually watch it in the evening when there is nothing else on that I like.

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Mar-18 19:49:39

I forgot grin

maryeliza54 Tue 13-Mar-18 18:36:21

I generally recorded or watch on playback to solve that problem -

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Mar-18 16:57:47

it’s easy to miss these afternoon offerings which are often much much better than some of the evening rubbish
Even though I've been retired for years it somehow seems rather decadent to watch day-time television.
So I have missed it!

Jane10 Tue 13-Mar-18 16:25:27

I must say I was extremely confused! However, I like the style of it. I'll persevere. I always loved the Dr Blake mysteries. The Ozzies do these dramas very well.

ninathenana Tue 13-Mar-18 16:13:31

Lynnebo
If you've not seen it before you may benifit from some research of who's who or it could be rather confusing smile

Wasn't the lighting on today's episode rubbish !

Lynnebo Tue 13-Mar-18 14:49:50

Having a look at this on catchup. Hadn’t heard of it before so thanks for the recommendation!

Grannyknot Tue 13-Mar-18 12:58:01

OOh, thanks! smile

maryeliza54 Tue 13-Mar-18 12:56:51

I wonder who commissions for that slot? They are spot on

ninathenana Tue 13-Mar-18 12:54:39

Shakespeare & Hathaway finished on Friday. This replaces it.

Jane10 Tue 13-Mar-18 12:32:06

I'm watching TV during the morning because I'm off sick and can't concentrate to read. I'm hoping the afternoon programmes are a lot better than the morning ones!!

glammanana Tue 13-Mar-18 12:03:00

Thanks so much for that I have just finished watching the whole of series 4 on catch up ml54 you are so right I do tend to miss a lot when home during the day and some of the programmes are so good.

maryeliza54 Tue 13-Mar-18 11:58:14

Thank you - it’s easy to miss these afternoon offerings which are often much much better than some of the evening rubbish.i generally find the characterisation and scripts much superior. I’m actually enjoying Shakespeare and Hathaway in a lighthearted way - good acting and some funny lines and situations
