Just watched her decorating a yule log but did anyone see the bluebottle running around the blue and white stripey bowl ?? Ha ha - hurrah !

Luckygirl Tue 19-Dec-17 18:48:47

Can't stand his rather twee lady and her rather twee programmes. Definitely not my cup of tea!

whitewave Tue 19-Dec-17 18:53:02

I’m with you there lucky

Shirleyw Tue 19-Dec-17 20:37:43

And me...can't stick her.

After seeing her first series about four years ago we attempted to make her Scots pine maple syrup from our own trees.

We should have remembered that the reason you plant Scots pines on the fens is to filter out the black soil that is everywhere in the atmosphere. The water was black when we washed the needles and remained black after several washes.

The finished product looked horrible and smelled like loo cleaner so that's where we chucked it. grin

Watching one - nothing to say about that but please please please don’t show those tragic donkeys. I simply can’t bear it.

Evil bastards

NotTooOld Tue 19-Dec-17 22:29:46

Never watched it, I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to all that trouble, tbh.

DanniRae Tue 19-Dec-17 22:35:29

Another one here who can't stand her - far too pleased with herself for me!

MissAdventure Tue 19-Dec-17 22:46:31

I don't like her much either. Probably I'm envious that she spends time farting around making stuff.

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Dec-17 23:09:04

I haven't watched it, but why were donkeys in a programme about a Homemade Christmas?

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Dec-17 23:10:02

and I made some stuff this year (probably a first for me) without the aid of Kirstie or any farting.

MissAdventure Tue 19-Dec-17 23:22:48

What did you make? smile

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Dec-17 23:24:37

Christmas bunting. I've never done anything like that before but I quite enjoyed doing it. Perhaps I should show Kirstie then she can show you all how to make it in her programme
tchwink

MissAdventure Tue 19-Dec-17 23:26:42

I'm sure she would be eager to showcase your talent. It is quite satisfying making 'stuff' isn't it? My daughter and I made a standard lamp shade out of tights once.

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Dec-17 23:28:48

It's my friend's talent really, she told me how to do it. tchgrin
But she's not called Kirstie

MissAdventure Tue 19-Dec-17 23:31:12

One of my exes had a bit of a fancy for Kirstie. The only thing I have in common with her is that I'm quite fat.

I think I've only ever seen one of her programmes, several years ago. She bought an old bottle at an antique stall for a ridiculous price and upscaled it with ugly embellishments to make a very expensive gift that probably ended up at a jumble sale or in the bin. I haven't bothered with her since.

I like watching this program its harmless, but i don't do crafts.

My DH and I both think it is made for people with too much time on their hands and it gives them ideas how to fill that time.

Yummy Mummy springs to mind. Lol

Auntieflo Wed 20-Dec-17 09:23:36

I used to like Kirstie, but not so much these days. Then, yesterday I watched a lovely programme, called something like Repair Shed. I had missed the beginning, but lots of clever folk mending treasured belongings, and also making gifts for each other as a Secret Santa. Lovely .

shysal Wed 20-Dec-17 09:36:30

I don't mind the Kirstie programmes, enjoy watching the crafters. I like the Repair Shed too. Money is never seen to change hands, but in real life the repairs would be very expensive1

Can't be bothered with her programmes showing how to made homemade items. Dust collectors spring to mind. confused

grin I did enjoy doing my bit of sewing but the machine has gone away now, probably for a year or so.

I thought that people with too much time on their hands come on Gransnet tchwink

Jalima1108 Wed 20-Dec-17 10:17:06

I have watched a couple of programmes where a very nice young woman rescues things that people are about to put into the tip then she, or a craftsperson she knows, renovates them, turns them into something different then sells them to people who have more money than sense.

ginny Wed 20-Dec-17 10:20:55

Some of us are clever enough to craft and watch ‘telly’. Now there’s a waste of time !
Just off to see a friend who has been knocking a little ball into tiny holes and another who had been swinging her arms and legs about for a hour. Gosh , we all have too much time on our hands.

Jalima1108 Wed 20-Dec-17 10:34:03

Yes, I can multi-task!
