Anyone else watch this? I enjoyed it sufficiently to give it more of my precious time smile. It's quite light and has the good-looking cop sidekick from Vera in it. Ashley Jensen and Rebecca Front too. smile

Although ... they sure threw everything at us in the first episode, I hope the writer as more themes up her sleeve otherwise the story is over before it began.

Grannyknot Sun 19-Nov-17 18:51:23

Has more themes! A dropped 'aitch!

Welshwife Sun 19-Nov-17 19:03:26

Yes I watched it and will give it another few goes to see how it pans out.

tanith Sun 19-Nov-17 19:44:18

I liked it too, I'll be watching.

TerriBull Sun 19-Nov-17 19:46:01

Thought it was good kept me interested enough to want to watch further episodes.

lemongrove Sun 19-Nov-17 20:05:15

Must look it up, thanks.

Cherrytree59 Sun 19-Nov-17 20:14:01

Grannyknot Sun 19-Nov-17 20:53:32

Oops.

merlotgran Sun 19-Nov-17 20:56:21

I loved it and I think Kay Mellor is a brilliant writer.

Christinefrance Sun 19-Nov-17 21:26:42

Me too merlotgran I always like Kay Mellor's writing. So many sub plots going on, looking forward to next week.

Eloethan Sun 19-Nov-17 22:22:01

I quite enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit over the top. Rebecca Front was brilliant.

Tegan2 Sun 19-Nov-17 23:37:08

Not sure about it; felt it was trying to hard to be too many things perhaps.

Teetime Mon 20-Nov-17 10:19:50

I sort of liked it but it has the potential to be ridiculous - light viewing.

Ilovecheese Mon 20-Nov-17 10:57:44

I liked it, but then I like Rebecca Front in anything.

Alima Mon 20-Nov-17 11:24:26

Have just seen this on catch-up and it is really good. Always enjoyed Kay Mellor dramas, wish there was more like this on TV, makes a refreshing change after all the cooking progs and period dramas.

Is this the registrar one? My daughter was complaining that it is totally inaccurate and she should know, she has been one for years

Grannyknot Mon 20-Nov-17 15:30:51

Yes it is, ygg and I'm sure it is inaccurate. But so are (as we know) many other shows based in hospitals, at a fire station, coroner's office and so on.

Unless you watch a reality show, it's always going to be "fiction". I should think that watching a television programme about what really goes on in a registrar's office, would be like watching paint dry grin

lemongrove Mon 20-Nov-17 15:33:16

Couldn’t find it on ITV ......doh! I will now look on BBC.grin

Grannyknot Mon 20-Nov-17 15:34:41

Sorry!! I've asked HQ to delete the ITV in the subject line. smile

Tegan2 Mon 20-Nov-17 15:45:58

Yggdrasil; that's what I felt about it. Especially as it seemed to be focussing on a lot of social issues that I wouldn't want people to be given misleading information about. I'm also a bit of a prude and wasn't too happy about the 'sex in cupboards' bit [reminded me of that other recent drama; somethingorother lane].

kittylester Mon 20-Nov-17 18:37:39

I thought it was really good if taken at face value.

lemongrove Mon 20-Nov-17 22:24:57

Found it and downloaded it Grannyknot, yes, if all we watched on tv was ‘authentic’ in drama and comedy it would be a poor do! Probably turn off after five mins of watching somebody stare at a computer, while drinking coffee.
