In the 1960s my Mum ran a Bed and Breakfast business from our home in Stratford-upon-Avon. We had many actors and musicians staying with us, such as Mandy Miller, Sian Phillips (Peter on Toole's wife) and many of the ballet dancers who performed at the Royal Shakespeare theatre during the winter months. One of the nicest actresses was Dandy Nicols who became famous as the wife in Till Death us do part. She had a very cultured voice ! I was quite star struck with it all.

I seem to remember Mandy Miller eventually retired from acting, got married to a farmer and moved to Scotland.

And yes it was a great film.

I remember my grandmother thought Mandy Miller really was deaf and dumb.

Oh yes I remember it well. Such a wonderful little actress. Often think of it now as my little DGS has no hearing in one ear.

Yes, I remember the film and wasn't Mandy Miller occasionally a guest panellists on Juke Box Jury with David Jacobs in the sixties?

I recently found, and indeed bought, a DVD of this film in my local HMV store. I remember seeing it as a child, and I have never forgotten it as it made such an impact on me even then.
It is about a deaf and dumb little girl played by Mandy Miller, a wonderful little actress I think.
I cried buckets today as I watched it.
Does anyone else remember this film?
