My DH cringed when Angel set about the wisteria with the secateurs. "She's cutting off the new growth" he said. I agree about the boudoir, the black glossy tiles and gold grout looked fantastic.

I first saw Dick on TV many years ago on Scrapheap Challenge. He was very clever at making machines to perform certain challenges, using only (planted) stuff from the dump. It used to be one of my favourite programmes blush.
I have been saddened to see that his son seems to have no input into the Chateau, suspect there was a bad rift when Dick left his first marriage.

I loved 'It's Not Easy Being Green' which Dick did with his first wife, Brigit and his son and daughter.

I read somewhere that Brigit found the media intrusion hard to deal with and so Dick did the second series - helping others with eco projects with his son James. They then did 'The Hungry Sailors' together.

I suppose having a film crew with you for so much time is the price you pay for making a TV show which pays for your project. hmm

I notice Angel's parents don't seem to be around at the moment unless they're helping with child care away from the cameras.

It's a great programme and such a beautiful place.

Good programme for early Sunday evening. What a monumental task they've taken on but they both come across well, I admire Angel's creativity and cheerfulness, Dick's clearly talented in what he can turn his hand to, not keen on the face fungus though hmm Sweet little children who will have the advantage of growing up bi lingual.

I thought the black and gold might be a step too far, but it looked lovely! Every time I watch them I have to go and move some of my furniture round!

Shame it was the last one tonight. Loved the van du vin grin and Angel's cake stands.

Hope there is another series when the grandparents move into their stable conversion.

We are totally addicted to Dick & Angel and their delightful children and their exquisite chateau. That moat! The orangery!! Now the Walled Garden!!! We were a bit iffy about Angel at the beginning but she is so creative and we admire her enormously. Well, both of them, because it's a major undertaking - but what a gorgeous place they are renovating, no wonder they fell in love with it. Husband who normally doesn't get too involved with tv programmes has voiced the hope that the coverage is going to go on for years so we'll always have a Dick & Angel series to look forward to!

Loved those cake stands! What a great way of using old plates. The van du vin worked brilliantly. I did like her trying to help Dick reverse it and him getting out and saying "Don't speak to me!!!" sounded just like me and DH grin
