I think the people who come out best in these kind of reality show experiments are those with practical skills. They are often able to placate the group by getting on with jobs and improving the conditions. There was recently a similar programme with a group of misfits on an Italian vineyard and the usual bickerings soon kicked in. It takes a calm, sensible person to step forward.
I think it's silly to pick people just for their disagreeable traits to make interesting TV.
