Not a big telly fan, but a wee spell of bed boundness has left me watching more than usual.
I'm relating to Ma Larkin from Darling Buds of May!

I'd like to say Demelza Poldark but I'm fifty years too late.

Sigh.

Rhia (sp) in Butterflies, at least as far as cooking goes. Remember the custard with an identity crisis?

I loved Butterflies too. We have several cars as it is a multi-generational house, and still say we are playing at Butterflies when we have to get the blocked one out of the drive grin

Definitely Ena Sharples. grin

Arry Sat 10-Jun-17 09:18:40

Karen in Cold Feet - I wish!
Love her house especially the kitchen.

I have racked my brains and I really don't think there is a character that even comes close to me. The plot in my particular soap opera would not be boring, but might get very complicated.

I could write a cast list though. wink

Samantha from Bewitched.
one twitch of Mum's nose and the bank of Mum & Dad swings into action.
DH would be according to DGC
Grandpa in my pocket .
Their mantra is 'Grandad will fix it!'

I'd love to say Darcey Bussell but I really, really don't think so. Opposite ends of almost every spectrum. The only similarities I can come up with are that we're both alive and have a sense of humour.

I would love to come somewhere close to Ness in Gavin and Stacey.....oh to have that confidence.......I've got that shape, its a start.

I think the nearest to me is the Vicar of Dibley! I am not overweight or a vicar, but I tend to be down to earth, and good at organizing things and fairly sensible and wise. I also like chocolate!

Sheilasue Sat 10-Jun-17 10:50:02

Grantchester

goldengirl Sat 10-Jun-17 10:51:12

Hyacinth Bucket according to DH!!!! But I hasten to add he is NOT like Mr Bucket at all

Jane10 Sat 10-Jun-17 10:56:47

Blanche Hunt! (Deirdre's mother in Corrie)

Greyduster Sat 10-Jun-17 11:05:49

Walter Mitty!!

Children's TV series,"The Pogles" had a comment by the rustic Dad, Amos Pogle, when his wife reprimanded him for shouting and singing, telling him to be quiet.
"I shall be quiet when I am in churchyard, plenty of time for it then, till then I shall shout and sing all I like"
Yes, Amos-me too!

If anyone, I think I relate to Barbara in The Good Life - you know, make do and mend, gardening and all the domestic stuff, even though I loathe dusting.
I'm not interested in the latest bag, clothes, hairstyles etc though I'd draw the line at having one trouser leg different to the other and riding on a modified lawnmower to the shops.

Sandra in New Tricks. Her confidence in every area except her immediate family, coupled with her approachability and willingness to stand up for truth and justice resonated in me.

There could only be one, Compo from Last of the Summer Wine.

Def' Lady Lavender from 'you rang man Lord?' Apart from being quite scatty, the urge to throw plates of food at my DH sometimes is difficult to contain.

I recently bought the box set of the series and we are thoroughly enjoying it, except the 4th series which is a bit lack lustre.
