Metropolitan Police

Did anyone else watch the programme about the Met the other night? I was transfixed and I take my many hats off to all of them. How they do that job I will never know. They are all extremely brave.
In particular the programme focused on a senior police woman who was building a case against a horrible man for human trafficking and gaining from the proceeds of position as well as heaven knows what else. Although she was focusing on him she was trying her best to help the women involved by keeping them clear of criminal convictions and offering support. She got her man in the end- great piece of work.
Incidentally the area where they were focused Romford Road in Stratford E. London is the area where I grew up and the houses along there were large Victorian homes where the posh people lived - now it was is a string of brothels and other dives- such a shame.

I don't know how the police can possibly achieve what is expected of them with such reduced numbers and budgets. Apparently the Met is short of 600 detectives and they are now taking direct recruitment. DH's father was an Inspector in the Met during the war - bet he is turning in his grave.
