I'm just wondering if it's only me, or are other people struggling - with all the characters now on the programme I'm finding it difficult to remember who lives where, who has currently moved in with who, who has left who, who is married/has been married to who, who knows what and who doesn't, who is related to who, and as for all the children I hope they know where they belong cause it would take me a while to work it out. It must be difficult being the story writers but as for me I think I'm losing the 'plot'.

Used to watch it when it was lighthearted and funny but, these days, it's like a Northern East Enders - too depressing and convoluted. Wonder what Tony Warren would think of it now?

The Barlow clan story is ridiculous and so are the police doing the investigation. Daniel seems to have had a character transplant and wasn't it a co-incidence that his mother returned just at that moment? hmm

if Deidre had life insurance that's probably how comes Ken has money now?

I still enjoy it (although I agree some storylines are ridiculous) and I think there is still quite a bit of humour in it.

I must admit I have great difficulty remembering past storylines even when they were quite explosive at the time.

I too think it's become very far fetched the Barlow storyline has been farcical
Can someone put me out my misery and tell me why Ken was taking the kettle upstairs The police part has been ridiculous, the police barely come out for any crime less than a full blown murder nowadays and taking each of them into jail one by one then releasing them is so daft The story about Sally's sister and niece was very poorly written too it's like the scriptwriters have an idea, but start it without an end ..in their heads so it peters out into something quite ridiculous
How come Pat has got away with murdering at least two people, stealing ' whatsits' business and buggering up the flats stealing peoples deposits and is still happily one of the community with no suspicion falling on him
I m still wanting to watch but it's getting a bit close now

Yes and Tracey running away with Rob and Amy was ridiculous. Tracey said it was because she thought it was Amy who attacked Ken and wanted people believe it was her. Perhaps Ken was filling his hot water bottle.. lol . Daniel has turned into some sort of murderous psychopath instead of the softly spoken shy bookish boy he was to start with. I think the Eva Maria love triangle could be fun and Jenny's wedding is heading for disaster. What really annoys me is how many sewing factories allow their workers to sit and gossip all day, doing no work, also drink tea and eat biscuits and cakes whilst sitting at the machines? I think Underwiorld in reality would have relocated to the Far East long ago.

Ken was taking the kettle upstairs because if you recall the psychopath Phelan was busy installing a new kitchen downstairs and the water was turned off.

I agree some of the story lines are bordering on the ridiculous. The who pushed Ken down the stairs "thing" was just plain boring although them 2 hapless detectives made up for it . You could have wrote a comedy script for them.

I had 5 weeks to catch up on recently but managed it.

Daniel should be put in prison for Ken falling downstairs for not doing the job right and finishing the boring fella off! He's always been so tedious and self-righteous.

I love Amy though, brilliant little actress and a well deserved award at the recent Soap Awards. Just as sharp as her great gran, Blanche, who is very much missed by me. (Pause for putting a Daddy Long Legs and a tiny moth out of the window.)

But very much a born and bred Corrie fan, it's in the blood. smile

I thought Corrie was in my blood rubylady. I stopped watching when they did the pregnancy with Anna's adopted child. I know that 12 year olds getbpregnant and I know it's a soap but, I felt that child had been through enough. Ridiculous I know, but I did. I disliked the awful time Simon went through because his parents were hopeless. I disliked the Simon hitting Leanne story line so I've never returned. I loved the old Corrie, brilliant, well drawn cast. Humour and pathos, set in the north west, great dialogue. I miss it but not enough to try again

I know this will sound horrible but I really dislike the Simon character. He's so weird and creepy.

harrigran Tue 13-Jun-17 22:39:52

Oh, thank goodness for that, I thought I was a horrible person for disliking a child.

I have watched Corrie since it started. I have happy memories of watching it with my mum who died when I was 7. I think that is the only reason I've stuck with it. Like many of you I
am getting tired of the dramatic storylines. Every character is hiding something and not being honest with each other. And there is always someone having an affair! Bring back the days when the highlight of the episode was Ena and Elsie having a row!! I blame the script writers. They don't seem to have any imagination!! I really miss Blanche. I have always liked the humour in Corrie unlike Eastenders which has none.

Charleygirl Sun 02-Jul-17 17:26:51

There has not been any Blanche type humour in Corrie for a long time. I now find it easier to understand what the youngsters are saying by switching on sub titles. I also never liked the Simon character and I also do not like Tracy's cheeky brat of a daughter or that girl whose name escapes me but works in the kebab shop. There is little else on to watch and it is the only soap that I do watch.

gillybob Sun 02-Jul-17 17:35:40

I don't like Tracy's daughter either Charley but I do like Gemma from the kebab shop. I really like Mary and have read a spoiler that she and Norris get married ??? ( not sure how true it was ) but surely she's far too young for him .
