Truly chilling.

I find this programm very scary!!! The boy is evil and i am so scared for his mother!!! I remember being scared by the killer in The Fall with Gillian Anderson and sometimes could only watch on playback during the day for if i watched in the evening i had nightmares. Well done to the actor for such a brilliant portrayal of a physcopath.

Is he going to kill his dad?

For some reason I thought this was based on a real case but I don't think that is so, is it?

I think it's very well made and gripping but I don't really like the implication of the title Born to Kill. I don't think anyone is born to be a killer - I think it's a combination of genetic make up and environmental factors.

Although psychopathic traits are said to be able to be seen on brain scans, personality tests also form part of the diagnosis. Many people who score very highly on the tests and are identified as psychopaths do not go on to murder or hurt people. Also, there does appear to be evidence to suggest that seriously dysfunctional early relationships has at least some part to play.

Unsettling and unnerving....#bestviewedfrombehindpillow

I also dont believe anyone is born evil or to kill ,in fact I think everyone is capable of bad things in the "right" circumstances ,children who kill are often the product of neglect or bad parenting like James Bulgers killers, those parents should have been held responsible as much as their boys for killing James ,they had led horrible lives and watched horrific things from a very young age .

Sounds like We Need to Talk About Kevin. They serialised it on Woman's Hour (I think) but I couldn't bear to listen.

Yes its chilling and enthralling to watch. He changes so quickly from caring person to killer.
Definitely best viewed from behind a pillow Flowerofthewest.

Just caught up on third episode. Riveting and scary!

Greenfinch Sat 06-May-17 22:21:53

Very frightening.I just hope it does not conclude that he is autistic. Those on the spectrum have enough bad press as it is.

Even more scary now he is getting together with his father. I think there are more secrets still to come. Compulsive viewing.

Almost certainly not autistic but more probably psychopathic. given their meeting in prison I saw that look despite dad appearing to be a reformed character. It is compelling.

Well that was a dark series, I felt really uncomfortable throughout. Sam was obviously damaged by what he experienced as a child, the actor that played him was believable.

Thought the last episode was a bit melodramatic (is he really only supposed to be 16?) but anyway he did the right thing in the end. I expect he'll get a reduced sentence as he was protecting his mum.
