I watched to re run of the last two episodes of Line of Duty on playback just to refresh myself as the new series starts this Sunday. Oh my God!!! it was riverting I had forgotten how much, I found myself shouting for Kate to 'be careful' when she was chasing Cotton in the final scenes, cant wait for the new series now. Anyone else watched the re runs??

I've finally caught up on episode 1 and have more of a grasp of it all now (well, nearly!)

My money is on ACC Hilton together with Roz; he promoted Roz after she had had years out to bring up a family and she slept with him presumably for her promotion.

Do you mean Tim Ifield's body POGS? or another one? They found Tim's exsanguinated body in his flat - all that blood would take a lot to get rid of. I am expecting Kim and Aggie to appear any minute, brandishing their rubber gloves.

Of course, it could be the sexist 'good guy' Hastings.

Why so many surnames beginning with 'H'? It is very confusing!

Excellent so far, acting, story line all good.

Blimey I can't wait for her to get her comeuppance.

That wound is nasty and will be her downfall but where is his body? If it's still in the boot of a car it would putrid by now.

Definitely not a series too far.

Getting on, yes, I remember the handshake because it made me wonder if Ted was corrupt. Also, Kate going to a female senior because she couldn't be a Mason.
thandie Newton is brilliant.

There's been lots of dodgy handshakes. Maybe not this series, though. Steve witnessed a dodgy handshake between Ted and Fairbank in S3, suggesting that Ted was corruptible too. Kate went to a female AC boss when she wanted to investigate Dot in S3 - because she was a woman and couldn't be a Mason.

My bet for the real baddie is Hilton. I think there will be links to previous series and there's more to come out. There were names not crossed out on Danny's list.

Remember Hilton promoted Dot-The Caddy-and was seen having a chat with Tommy Hunter in one scene.

Having been a bit lukewarm about Thandie Newton at the start, I think she's now delivering one of the most unrelentingly nasty pieces of work on telly! Great work, TN!

Not sure how he'd have learned the 'proper' masonic handshake for that group if he isn't one of them - aren't they a closely-guarded secret? It's not just a case of one finger being a bit bent...

ninathenana Wed 19-Apr-17 17:57:07

So the ACC is now out to get her too after she gave him the brush off.
Cos we didn't see that one coming !

BlueBelle Wed 19-Apr-17 16:56:06

Well to start with I haven't seen any handshakes either but then there's lots of things I don't see ..... none of the above men appeal to me either I didn't realise I was that fussy

Iam64 Wed 19-Apr-17 16:43:35

Have we seen dodgy handshakes, I must have missed that. I've thought about this while gardening ( I know I need a hobby) and I wondered if the Masons thing is a red herring. Ted is the sort of personality who'd refuse to answer that. That Roz, what a Nasty piece of work. Presumably, onlybanother Mason would know, the ACC?

gettingonabit Wed 19-Apr-17 15:57:25

I thought he was a Protestant too, but over on the Other Side it's assumed he's Catholic, stirring up a debate on whether he can actually be a Mason.

gettingonabit Wed 19-Apr-17 15:55:05

I'm wondering whether Ted is, in fact, a Mason at all. The only evidence we've seen is a few dodgy handshakes. Could he actually be pretending to be one to make himself seem like one of the in-set? Or perhaps in order to gain the trust of other Masons who may be corrupt?

I obviously have way too much time on my hands...

Iam64 Wed 19-Apr-17 13:15:55

I suspect Ted is a protestAnt.
His character is portrayed as traditional and there is a longstanding tradition of Mason membership (always been proud of my dad's refusal to join

Roz has access to all the evidence and is very cunning
Don't know about the car

gettingonabit Wed 19-Apr-17 13:11:18

A few issues I haven't been able to work out:

1. If Ted is so hot on being "subject to public scrutiny" (said in relation to non-surveillance of the private areas), how come he is, or appears to be, a Mason? It's a secretive society, excludes women so inherently sexist, and, furthermore, isn't he a Catholic? I didn't think Catholics could join the Masons?

2. I still don't get how Roz managed to get away with planting Tim's evidence on the body of Leanne C? Surely this must have rung alarm bells with Rupal, the eagle-eyed, thorough Pathologist who'd already carried out a belt and braces autopsy on the body?

3. Is Roz's car police issue or not? I think not. I think it's an 09 reg, so too old. Does this mean that, as the car is private property, that it cannot be seized and searched by AC12?

Rigby46 Mon 17-Apr-17 18:26:17

Welsh that's as maybe as to how DT is a nice chap and you talked to him - so far as AD/BN are concerned how nice they are or talking is the last thing on my mind blush

Ilovecheese Mon 17-Apr-17 18:21:08

kittylester
See you behind the bike sheds !

Coolgran65 Mon 17-Apr-17 18:16:31

trisher oh, when AD says darlin ...... jelly knees.

Clearly I am very fickle because I could fancy David T very easily, especially when he stood up the the bullies last week.

However, seeing as this is about Line of Duty, I do think that the tables were turned very easily on AD last night. Bound to be investigating how Rosa got the info.

And what about when yer woman put boss man in his place, he definitely didn't get what he expected.

I'm confused about hubby, he was so intimidated by Rosa at the end.... or is it all show.

Welshwife Mon 17-Apr-17 17:24:32

David Tennant is a nice chap - we talked to him when he filming Dr Who in the stree DD lived in - they came and put false flowers in all the beds as it was the middle of winter and supposed to be a summer scene. !

nanaK54 Mon 17-Apr-17 17:24:31

Oh thanks Ana - is he yours to give away grin

Rigby46 Mon 17-Apr-17 17:22:55

Maggiemaybe Mon 17-Apr-17 17:21:38

Ah yes, David. The only man in Broadchurch not on my list of suspects. I'm even wondering about the vicar.

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 17:21:31

David Tennant, I presume - no, not my type so you can have him, nanaK54 smile (although you may have to fight for him...)

nanaK54 Mon 17-Apr-17 17:20:39

David Tennant (Broadchurch 9pm) grin

Rigby46 Mon 17-Apr-17 17:16:24

nanaK54 Mon 17-Apr-17 17:15:31
