I watched to re run of the last two episodes of Line of Duty on playback just to refresh myself as the new series starts this Sunday. Oh my God!!! it was riverting I had forgotten how much, I found myself shouting for Kate to 'be careful' when she was chasing Cotton in the final scenes, cant wait for the new series now. Anyone else watched the re runs??

If it was hubby why would he cut off the fingers- does he know she was scratched? And how would she know the fingers etc were Tim's. Mind you I don't think. logic or common sense have any place in this series. It is gripping but a bit unbelievable

My theory is that Ros's husband followed her and sat outside in his car. He was the white man seen by the neighbour. I don't know how (given she'd been unconscious and he was wielding an electric saw but hey how) but Ros somehow overpowered Tim, killed him and cleaned up forensically. She lopped his fingers off because he scratched her, causing the wound to her wrist, so she removed any DNA evidence. However, there was a spot of her blood left on a surface which she saw when she arrived at the flat.
Didn't she have Tim;s lap top gettingonabit? Or did she find that in the boot of her husbands car>
Whatever - we're all gripped and will be on the sofa at 9pm next Sunday.

Well, she is hiding the infected wrist from her husband I think so he can't know about that.

I don't think the husband would clean up so well as to leave no forensic traces (except for the one mark on the side of the worktop, odd that!). That would really take some doing, blood from an artery would go just everywhere, in cracks and crevices and getting out again without leaving traces that may have got onto footwear would be nigh on impossible I would have thought.

Iam64 Mon 10-Apr-17 19:56:19

Exactly Jalima. I do wonder what caused the amount of blood seen around her head before she recovered consciousness. Could she have simply cut an ear as she hit the surface - ears bleed profusely.

Haven't a clue

Iam64 Mon 10-Apr-17 20:04:33

grin neither has anyone else whitewave but we love it.

I'm wondering too how the cleanup was done so thoroughly.

Regarding the fingers-I think it depends on the time lapse. Maybe, instead of immediately cutting the off, perhaps they were cut off later? By someone else? It was post-mortem, but maybe not immediately after? Roz wasn't at work the following morning. Where was she? Where was hubby, come to that?

Maybe Roz cut off the fingers separately to cover herself forensically? Unless whoever cut them off cut them off for a different reason eg to get into the computer by fingerprint.

Roz told hubby that she'd scraped her wrist on some brickwork. Who else knows about the injury?

whitewave Mon 10-Apr-17 20:16:11

Well Huntley is definately acting as if she's guilty. She was in the kitchen where the victim was found. She has a wound on her arm which might explain the missing fingers. She's fiddled with the forensic evidence. She's now fitting up the foreign cafe worker.

Motive could be her over reaching ambition to get the killer of the regardless of his guilt.

Or - it could be that her husband is the killer which is why she is trying to fit up the special needs chap and now the girl for herself!!!!????

Yes!! That's it!!! Shan't bother to watch it next week grin

whitewave Mon 10-Apr-17 20:19:09

That could explain why husband had the balaclava (sp) . There is no way he would have reacted like he did towards what's his name if he was an ordinary bod.

Iam64 Mon 10-Apr-17 20:19:35

Your theory about Huntley fitting up the poor lad and now the Eastern European girl has been my working hypothesis (hah) for a couple of weeks now. If you don't watch ww, you can look at this thread next Monday morning and get an update.

Jalima1108 Mon 10-Apr-17 20:20:40

did you write the script whitewave grin

whitewave Mon 10-Apr-17 20:21:16

I can't possibly miss it!! Hope what's his name isn't dead. He's good.

gettingonabit Mon 10-Apr-17 20:23:15

Iam I think she had the laptop, yes.. She took the laptop because it held the image of her at the door, I think.

Im just wondering-how much blood would there have been? If Tim bled out, due to severing an artery, how would the blood have been distributed? In spurts? In a puddle?

Im wondering how much of the blood would have been contained within the sheeting that Tim had laid down for Roz.

We ought to have a sweep stake. Prize is whoever wins will be treated with the utmost respect by all grannetters for 1 year.

durhamjen Mon 10-Apr-17 20:42:26

Why would her husband make such a thing of asking her where she was and if she had been with somebody else if he knew where she was?

whitewave Mon 10-Apr-17 20:44:01

Well he needn't necessarily know that she knowsconfused

LadyGracie Mon 10-Apr-17 20:44:16

Three weals on her wrist look like deep scratches from fingernails during the struggle, then fingers were cut off because of skin etc under nails. That's my theory. Why hasn't she got blood poisoning?

LadyGracie Mon 10-Apr-17 20:45:03

He better not be dead, he's the main reason I watch it!

seacliff Mon 10-Apr-17 20:54:18

I am so confused (and shocked)!! I think the blood poisoning will happen soon, she'll suddenly collapse. I hope staircase man survives.

gettingonabit Mon 10-Apr-17 20:59:34

I think she has blood poisoning, or will have pretty soon.

If the cleaning was so thorough, why was the splatter left on the worktop? confused.

I think the baddie is going to be the ACC Hilton. He has something on Roz. She told Ted off in no uncertain terms when he called her darlin' but just sat there when oily Hilton took hold of her hand. Odd.

durhamjen Mon 10-Apr-17 21:03:22

Double bluff, then, whitewave. He's trying to find out if she knows he was nearby.

whitewave Mon 10-Apr-17 21:06:48

So he knows that she knows but she doesn't know he knows? Even more confused

durhamjen Mon 10-Apr-17 21:11:07

You are just trying to confuse me, I know. It's working.

whitewave Mon 10-Apr-17 21:14:45

Can't talk - I'm on Broadchurch now trying to work that out.

rosesarered Mon 10-Apr-17 21:32:32

Poor old Steve......thrown down the stairs! He has to be dead. His attacker must be
Thandies husband.....although, the balaclava man looks stockier to me.
