Anyone watching Replacement I found it slow going with far too much involvement with the business side of the story I didn't feel any great connection with the characters but I m sure it's much too early to judge and I ll. stick with it the ending was scarey, I jumped

I agree pathetic ending.

Cherrytree she couldn't sound the horn Paula had disconnected the electrics. Hence the torch battery to set off the air bag. I wouldn't have had a clue about hotwireing or the air bag either.

Cherrytree59 Tue 14-Mar-17 23:04:30

Thought I had missed something re the police and Paula
but obviously not if GNers didn't get it either !

So many questions unanswered

Why didn't she agree to paternity test? Then maybe her husband would have believed her.

Hot wiring the car was ridiculous ! Why not keep blasting the horn?

At one point the mother in law seemed to have an agenda

Disappointing episode

ChristineFrance so glad you said that I do sometimes miss the plot but I was way off then .... how come they arrested her
What a load of rubbish tonight was I was thoroughly disappointed

merlotgran Tue 14-Mar-17 22:47:39

I can't swallow a couple of paracetamol without a glass of water. hmm

Nana3 Tue 14-Mar-17 22:43:42

Rubbish ending. They tried to keep us guessing reguarding Ellen being paranoid but made us dislike Paula from the beginning. The acting was good but the plot had too many flaws. How many of us could hot wire a car? Could have spent 3 hours on a Tuesday doing something a lot more worthwhile.

Grannyknot Tue 14-Mar-17 22:38:50

It was all over the place tonight. How come the blue pills didn't do the job? I presume they were meant to kill. Where was the CCTV for the stairs incident? Kay's death remains a loose end.

merlotgran Tue 14-Mar-17 22:21:31

Very disappointing ending. The scenes in the garage were a load of rubbish and who put the police in the picture with regard to Paula?

Ana Tue 14-Mar-17 22:19:45

And why was the baby just left there in her basket when the police had already arrested Paula? In RL she'd have been whisked away into care before you could blink...

Ana Tue 14-Mar-17 22:17:57

I agree about the crappiness! Glad I didn't watch the previous episodes...

Christinefrance Tue 14-Mar-17 22:12:46

How did Paula get arrested, did I miss something ?

gettingonabit Tue 14-Mar-17 22:09:04

Well that was a bit crap.

How did Ellen suddenly regain custody of Lia?

Were those pills Viagra hmm.

Morgana Tue 14-Mar-17 22:08:36

Well what a load of rubbish!

Anya Fri 10-Mar-17 17:44:46

And don't forget Georgia.

Anya Fri 10-Mar-17 17:41:23

The 'daughter' is the clue....Paula's.

angelab Fri 10-Mar-17 11:36:02

rosesarered I agree, I was thinking that all through the program - surely the fact that Kay said she had finally found out what was going on was a reason to suspect foul play?!

Karanlouise Fri 10-Mar-17 10:56:06

Loving all these different opinions and possibilities, i agree rosesarered that's why it's a good thriller. Looking forward to finding out what happens. Have a lovely day everyone.smile

rosesarered Thu 09-Mar-17 10:36:34

All of which could be quite wrong!grin

rosesarered Thu 09-Mar-17 10:35:12

That's why this is such a good thriller, it gets you thinking all sorts of things.
Paula is certainly hiding a lot of secrets but that doesn't mean that she murdered Kay at the library site.
If Kay had really called Ellen would the police not have found that call?
Nobody has actually asked exactly what Kay said, and although somebody asked Ellen about it, Ellen did not tell them what Kay said to her.
I think there are three different things going on, Ellen is over suspicious, has past mental problems and is very upset about Paula being maybe better than her at the job.
Paula has lost a child, has mental problems and wants the whole world to like her and needs to succeed.
Somebody did push Kay to her death, and David is having an affair with somebody.

gettingonabit Thu 09-Mar-17 08:30:37

I'm wondering if the similarity is part of the plot.

I think there MAY be a connection between the dead boss Kay and Ellen's MIL, though. Something about mother figures maybe?

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about this programme!

I'm still trying to figure out why Kay called Ellen to the site that night. She'd already warned her off on health and safety grounds.

Talking of which, why wasn't there an investigation? Irl the HSE would have been crawling all over the site and probably shut it down.

Perhaps Kay meant some kind of harm to Ellen, hence calling her to the site? Maybe Ellen was indeed having an affair with her husband?

I'm overthinking this again, aren't I?

BlueBelle Thu 09-Mar-17 06:05:30

I too often have problems like this and thought it was me getting face blind as I got older but I often find faces look so similar that I spend time working out who is who and I lose the plot a bit
What with that and sound blurs it's a wonder I watch anything LOL

gettingonabit Wed 08-Mar-17 21:28:26

I've just watched it again saddo.

As regards the lipstick: it was red and Paula wore pink throughout.

I don't think it was hers.

The relationship between Ellen and David is a bit....huggy. hmm

gretel Wed 08-Mar-17 18:00:32

Caris was in the first episode outside the office in the car with her dad, waiting to pick up Paula. Ten years is a long time to be away from work (apart from a few small projects.)

Karanlouise Wed 08-Mar-17 17:18:10

I agree gettingonabit, but I do find this happens quite often and I end up focusing on who is who rather than the plot. Then I have to rewind and watch again to find out what's going on. At first I thought the mother in law was the murdered bosses mother or a relation of some sort last night as there was such a resemblance. smile

gettingonabit Wed 08-Mar-17 17:07:56

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm finding some of the characters confusing ie looking alike. I'm finding the two husbands looking similar, the MIL and the murdered boss woman looking similar, and there's a striking resemblance between Ellen's sister Rianne, the office manager whose name escapes me, and Georgia! Is it me?

Even Ellen and Paula look a bit alike. Apart from Paula's psycho stare...

Karanlouise Wed 08-Mar-17 16:04:36

Now that would be a good twist gettingonabit. Agree cherrytree59 about the baby in the car, maybe someone planted the lipstick. All very intriguing I think. smile
