Anyone watching? I think 'hayley' played a good part

Jalima Mon 20-Mar-17 23:10:17

We have commented on the lack of curtains - wouldn't you think that DT would tell his teenage daughter to close the windows, and the curtsins and lock the door while he's out all night looking for a local rapist shock

Except there are no curtains .....

What is it about the male population of Broadchurch? Are they inbred or something? While the women seem to be warm, competent and emotionally intelligent, the men run the Neanderthals a close second.
And do they not have curtains? If, there was a rapist around in our village people would not live in what look like conservatories without blinds or something at the windows!

I don't think DT is at all attractive, but he is a good actor, which in Broadchurch is all that matters.OC is not particularly attractive either, but is also a fine actor.I think we are less preoccupied with looks here, but in the US all main parts/leads have to be good looking regardless sometimes of acting ability.

I think they just act off each other without thinking about it - wouldn't it be wonderful if they continued together in some form. But they are both so successful I guess it's not likely. David Tennant seems to be able to do this with actresses of a certain age - he and Catherine Tate also clicked together.

I loved the scotch egg eating too and David Tennant's face when she handed it to him was priceless! It made me wonder if it was unscripted!

Luckygirl Tue 14-Mar-17 22:38:21

Oh grumppa - we do not expect that you will see David Tennant's attraction. Just leave us to dream! grin

Jalima Tue 14-Mar-17 22:09:47

Sorry! Tom of course.

The taxi driver and wife met at university; he wanted to be a doctor hmm but she was already pregnant by someone else so he 'saved' her hmm again
They could both be about 36 or 37.

grumppa Tue 14-Mar-17 21:28:46

Perhaps David Tennant's diction would improve if he ate a scotch egg at the same time as he delivered his lines. Then he could swallow the food rather than the ends of his words

rosesarered Tue 14-Mar-17 21:15:39

Yes Ana I think teenage boys would watch it anywhere.
Does anyone think that the taxi driver looks too young to have a 18 year old son?

rosesarered Tue 14-Mar-17 21:13:56

Danny was killed/murdered Jalima the son is called Tom.grin

Ana Tue 14-Mar-17 21:11:56

But would he and his mate really have stood in the middle of a country lane watching/listening to porn on a phone? hmm

Jalima Tue 14-Mar-17 21:06:13

I loved the way she handed the half-eaten scotch egg to DI Hardy!

I agree, Danny is being shown as a nasty character.

rosesarered Tue 14-Mar-17 20:50:47

Ajay grin yes, I thought that too! Acting, saying lines and really eating a scotch egg or at least part of it.
Enjoyed this last episode, getting very murky.

merlotgran Tue 14-Mar-17 19:28:21

I'm another one who doesn't see anything in David Tennant. hmm

Sparklefizz Tue 14-Mar-17 19:23:26

Sorry, forgot to say that I think the reason that Danny keeps being mentioned in this series and the family members are all cropping up when it seems unnecessary at the moment, is because there's going to be a U-turn over who killed Danny, eg. that it was Tom, the son, as mentioned above.

Sparklefizz Tue 14-Mar-17 19:17:56

I think Tom Miller (the son) killed Danny, whether by accident or through jealousy, and his father took the blame for him. I think he's a nasty kid and is also involved now, although not specifically the rapist, but he may have filmed the assault.
I don't trust the vicar either Jalima, and Olivia Colman eating a Scotch egg and still delivering her lines without spattering it everywhere - brilliant!!
I can't see the attraction of David Tennant either BlueBelle - he doesn't do it for me and I can't understand his accent much of the time.

Jalima Tue 14-Mar-17 18:48:51

I didn't trust the vicar in the last series and I still don't trust him.

Jalima Tue 14-Mar-17 18:44:04

Microwaved coffee yes, but not tea hmm

Olivia was eating a Scotch egg sitting on the sea wall at Clevedon! (Somerset)

BlueBelle Tue 14-Mar-17 18:43:03

What's wrong with microwaving tea doesn't everyone?
I really can't see the attraction of David Tennent or his voice
I m a bit worried about Lenny Henry too Badenkate

KatyK Tue 14-Mar-17 18:38:11

I agree that David Tennant is lovely smile

Badenkate Tue 14-Mar-17 16:52:21

And as Luckygirl says, if it's good enough for David Tennant (sigh)

Badenkate Tue 14-Mar-17 16:51:12

I'm worried that we haven't seen much of Lenny Henry yet. I don't want him to have done it sad.

I also have to confess that occasionally when in a hurry and my tea had got cold....

Luckygirl Tue 14-Mar-17 16:51:01

I do it - but it is peppermint tea.

Anyway - if it is good enough for David, it is good enough for me!

Pittcity Tue 14-Mar-17 16:42:00

The main topic today is David Tennant microwaving cold tea, yuk.

Luckygirl Tue 14-Mar-17 16:38:45

Yes - but David Tennant! - ah! Who cares whodunit - it is enough to hear his lovely accent, and to look at his lovely........no no.....calm down dear. grin
