Oh dear , I used to like The Mary Tyler Moore Show when I was young. Then Rhoda , where MTM used to sometimes appear as her friend . I loved Rhoda's dress sense and flat !

OP forgot to say she has sadly died aged 80

Me too. I can't remember the flat but I did like her dress sense.

I read that she had type 1 diabetes from her 30s which caused her problems.

Part of our youth has gone sad

I also liked Mary Tyler Moore. Lovely face, style and sense of comic timing...and part of my American childhood. RIP.

Just heard interview with Dick Van Dyke on Radio 4. He sounds as spry as ever and is soon flying to London to star in another Mary Poppins film.

Happy memories of watching black and white TV with my mum.
I thought MTM was beautiful and so wanted to be like her.
RIP Mary Tyler Moore.

She was really good as Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie along with Julie Andrews. I always loved that film and thought she was beautiful. Sad to hear of her death.

I used to love this woman. I remember her not only in "The DVD" show and also her own, where Lou Grant came from apparently, he was her editor. I believe it actually ran for longer than DVD and Rhoda came from it as well which I also loved. I loved her in Throughly Modern Millie as well. God bless her and keep her. - BIG COL
