I think it is going to be 6-8 am Chelseababy and much as I like TB I don't think I will be listening very often . What a shame. Why couldn't they leave the time slot as it was?

Yes excellent news that TB will host S of the 60s, but I read that Brian Matthew had not been invited back which is sad because he felt quite able and his knowledge of music is vast. 6.00 am start is rather early however most people seem to access what they want at the time they want with Listen Again.

Ayjay I suspect Sarah Kennedy enjoyed a drink or two and it was said that on occasions she slurred her words in the morning. Whether this was the reason she left I don't know, but I liked her sense of humour.

Whatever happened to Sarah Kennedy? I know it was ages ago but shame she was never brought back.

Did you hear that Tony Blackburn is going to be doing Sounds of the Sixties on Saturday morning's at a new earlier time? Looks like they're having a reshuffle on radio 2.

Yes wonderful to have TB back on Radio 2, also on Radio Berkshire where he was given a very genuine welcome back last Friday morning. Yes I hope he gets P of the Ps back. I suspect that Brian Matthew may not come back to Sounds of the 60s on Sat mornings and Tim Rice has such a dull voice that I hope Tony will be offered this job too. 2 or 3 commercial stations kept him employed whilst Tony Hall did the dirty on him, so all in all he will be pretty busy in 2017. smile

Love Tony Blackburn, I wish he was back doing Pick of the Pops, corny jokes and all

Yes, I did wonder.....grin

But at least he's not dead...(?)

I was hoping it was Tony Hancock...... not that keen on Tony Blackburn.

Ana Fri 06-Jan-17 20:32:47

Blimey, thought you meant Tony Blair for a minute there...

Yes, terribly corny jokes and very dodgy wig hair, but old Tone's been a part of many of our lives, glad he's back with the Beeb smile

I've always loved Tone, his music and his terrible jokes.

Yes, I am listening too chelseababy. I loved his Saturday show it was disgusting that he was pushed out in the first place. He always seems so upbeat and happy.

I am currently typing on the computer, listening to the radio, making supper and following the breaking news. [

Blackburn that is, on radio 2 now. Harrah!
