Just been with DH to see the prequel to the Harry Potter films, all set in New York in the 1920s.

The graphics were superb and I did enjoy the film, not quite as much as the HP films, but still definitely worth going to if you like that type of film.

Now the main problem for us was that some of the actors did not speak clearly enough, even Eddy Redmayne who I really like, he definitely mumbled. It could of course be that we are old dodderers and our hearing is going. smile

I look forward to film no 2 in the series.

I'll go and see it when the hubbub has died down a little, looking forward to it.

I'm wondering if it would be suitable for a 6 nearly 7 year old.

To answer your question Terry I would say No. It said it was suitable for children 12 and over. There are some scary and violent parts to the film which would scare a 7 year old. There are also some funny parts youngsters would like.

Sorry Terri my spelling error.

My 7 yr old GS wouldn't like it Terri
H and I thought the plot was pretty thin but the special effects were great. Even better in 3D

Thanks for the feedback NanKate and Ninathenana, I suspected as much, but thought I would ask an opinion from those who have seen it. Probably more suitable for an older child, the trailer looked very good when I was at the cinema recently.

GS1 is just 10 and loved it. Sat riveted to the screen with no sign of his ADHD smile I loved it but it is a much darker film than The Philosopher's Stone for instance.
