I'm a Celeb!

It's back at the weekend and, after checking out the line up, I am more than happy with this years celebs. Larry Lamb is going in, along with little Adam out of Emmerdale. Lisa Snowdon and Ola Jordan along with a footballer, comedian, gold medal winner, dancer from Diversity, Scarlett off Gogglebox. Reserves it says are Martin Roberts off Homes under the Hammer and Danny Baker. The only fly in the ointment for me is Carol Vorderman. I do like her, but she does tend to try to hog a show when she is on, like 8 out of 10 cats, she is screaming all over the show. Plus she will be bragging about being a pilot. But, it looks interesting, and something to bring us up to the Festive season. Is anyone else going to be tuning in?

That wasn't a spelling mistake it's the plural of phobia wink blush

Anya Fri 11-Nov-16 14:27:55

This is blatant mathism or ought it to be mathophobi? confused

Anniebach Fri 11-Nov-16 13:52:33

I failed O'level maths , I don't like her

Jalima Fri 11-Nov-16 13:48:02

well, she's good at maths

Kittye Fri 11-Nov-16 13:47:17

Looking forward to it, but have reservations about Carol Vorderman too. Does anyone like the woman?

Jalima Fri 11-Nov-16 12:17:22

I couldn't eat all those insects or be doing with rats etc, although I have been offered a witchetty grub (no thanks) and to lick the backside of a tree ant for Vitamin C (yes).

I love this programme! One of my favourites. I do have a problem with Carol Vorderman's self importance though, but will try to keep an open mind.

Jamila It'd be my nightmare to be a celeb! Although if I was fit and healthy, this is one that I would like to give a go at, this and Strictly with all the sequins! Not much difference there then. grin

Which reality tv programme would anyone else go on?

Anniebach Thu 10-Nov-16 21:13:38

I so enjoyed Carol Thatcher winning , she was so natural , no mask

Jane10 Thu 10-Nov-16 20:54:51

I don't know who half the celebs are. Doesn't matter though. I enjoy getting to know them and to see relationships evolving. I was so cross last year as that irritating woman took up all the attention and screen time so we didn't have the chance to get to know the others. Ant and Dec are wonderful- so likeable and cheery. Can hardly wait!

Liz46 Thu 10-Nov-16 17:07:26

I can't stand Carol Vorderman either. I'll just concentrate on my knitting if she gets on my nerves.

I do enjoy the programme but sometimes don't watch the eating challenges.

Lona Thu 10-Nov-16 16:59:40

I've always enjoyed it ever since Paul Burrell was on it! I've never laughed so much in my life!
I think Ant and Dec are very funny too.
Can't watch the bug eating though.

KatyK Thu 10-Nov-16 16:57:09

We've never watched it as we never know who most of them are. We might give it a go this time. I love Scarlett from Gogglebox and agree that Carol Vorderman is totally up herself.

Jalima Thu 10-Nov-16 14:14:25

Oh!!

I thought you meant you are a Celeb rubylady
Disappointed now, I was looking forward to seeing you on the telly.

seacliff Thu 10-Nov-16 13:38:46

I like watching it apart from the eating challenges, I don't ever watch them.

I enjoy seeing how the often fake persona of the "celebrities" gradually gets chipped away - then you see the real person, some are pretty horrible. Usually there are quite a few I've never heard of, and always the token American.

Of course some are just themselves all the way, and the genuinely nice people usually win. I enjoyed Tony Blackburn way back.

Eloethan Thu 10-Nov-16 13:25:18

I wish they could do this programme without all the very nasty trials. I think it is interesting enough just watching how people get on with each other and cope with the challenges of being thrust into an alien environment and living a very basic existence, without home comforts and modern technology.

I stopped watching it some years ago when the challenges became more and more unpleasant and, in my view, rather sadistic.

notoveryet Thu 10-Nov-16 11:51:43

Really don't like the eating challenges at all.I do hope Ola does well, always liked her on Strictly.

LadyGracie Thu 10-Nov-16 11:14:16

I love it and look forward to it every year!

shysal Thu 10-Nov-16 09:23:54

I am looking forward to it. I love to hate it! It brings back memories of when the GCs were younger and together we would perform re-enactments of some of the trials, including eating bugs bought on line. Sadly they are too grown up and cool to play with Nan now sad.

Lillie Thu 10-Nov-16 08:51:42

Careful grannylyn, we could be watching the next Prime Minister!!!

grannylyn65 Thu 10-Nov-16 08:33:25

I absolutely hate these types of reality (!) programmes☹️️

Anniebach Thu 10-Nov-16 08:31:05

I watch it , don't know many this year , don't like Vorderman, like Orla

Charleygirl Thu 10-Nov-16 08:23:41

I would prefer to watch paint dry. I just think that these so called celebrities must be short of cash to do a ghastly programme like that. Glad that we do not all like the same "entertainment".

glammanana Thu 10-Nov-16 08:04:22

I do watch it behind a pillow when they have tasks showing snakes and large spiders etc,Scarlett is my favourite as her humour comes right across from her and I'm sure she can stand up for herself on the difficult tasks.
Carol Yorderman well what can one say she is full of her own self importance and may get taken down a peg or two but just lets see what happens it should be good.

Maggiemaybe Thu 10-Nov-16 07:55:34

I don't watch it (I just can't stand the eating challenges, which make me feel ill). But I'd like to predict that Scarlett will win. She's very likeable, with a great sense of humour and no nonsense about her. I'm tempted to check in now and then to watch it through my fingers, just to see if she's doing as well as I think she will.
