If you are watching Missing what do you think of it . it's complicated isn't it? stories within stories and changing countries and changing years I m really having to keep on my toes to follow it I am enjoying it though One criticism is I wish the wife and girlfriend looked less alike I have to keep translate which is which it is getting better now I m more familiar with the story line but the first couple of episodes foxed me

Adam, the drillman murderer, has murdered other girls who also got pregnant by him while he kept them captive, hence all the scan photos. He didn't answer when Baptiste asked him if there were more girls ..... maybe the next series will be based on finding out what happened to them.

It wasn't explained how Sophie got out of the shed after setting fire to it.

Maggiemaybe Thu 01-Dec-16 10:58:04

Oh, it was good! There's still the drawer full of scan photos to explain away - I think (hope) that these will crop up again in the next series. As will Baptiste, with any luck.

Lillie Thu 01-Dec-16 10:31:10

Gripping! They must write another series, everyone is talking about it.

I agree Bluebelle, we don't need to dwell on the discrepancies. Anyway, there are red herrings and confusions in real life too. The more answers we find, the more questions crop up.

gettingonabit Thu 01-Dec-16 10:30:22

Was it acknowledged that Reed didn't kill himself? If not, it would have been difficult to shoot oneself in the head and die at that angle, like grey says.

Maybe the discrepancies are in fact teasers that will link to a future series hopes.

My DH hasn't really followed this but has driven me mad popping in and out asking who is who and what is what. About 3 episodes ago he popped his head round the door, (I was engrossed)pointing to Sam (the dad) he said "he'll be dead before the end". Imagine how smug he looked last night. hmm

BlueBelle Thu 01-Dec-16 10:22:40

Oh I loved it surely with a drama we don't need to pick holes and look for everything that could be wrong I m sure we can find discrepancies in Shakespeare's work if we look hard enough
I was pleased it all came out in the wash and the jigsaw pieces for the most part fitted into how we were all working it out, ...I didn't expect the Dad to die though

Hearing the authors talk this morning they did say that stone does have dementia but no one can know what he remembers or what he doesn't and that would go for real life too
I was less confident Baptise will live I do hope so and I guess that's the cliff hanger we are left with
Brilliantly ant drama can't wait for the next one now

Another great series from the BBC, one or two discrepancies of course, but the tension was there right to the end. More please

Christinefrance Thu 01-Dec-16 08:58:42

Despite all the above I really enjoyed the series and hope there will be another one. The discrepancies did not spoil my enjoyment although my husband was acting as devil's advocate and pointing them out - grrr

Welshwife Thu 01-Dec-16 08:49:37

Someone - but not sure who - did say earlier that Reed had not killed himself.

I thought Alice looked very well when she came out of the cupboard!

Greyduster Thu 01-Dec-16 08:16:19

I enjoyed last night's episode, but too many unanswered questions, not least of which is how on earth could they have construed that Reed committed suicide? If he'd shot himself in the head, his arm wouldn't have been out to the side with the gun in his hand would it? The whole thing looked impossible to me, but I'm picky. I was sorry that Sam died though.

matson Wed 30-Nov-16 23:32:50

Brilliant, we can all sleep easy now we know !!

cornergran Wed 30-Nov-16 23:29:01

Enjoyed it. Mr C (Of course!) had predicted it all. Fortunately I refused to believe him so remained interested to the end but then I'm not an overly critical viewer hmm.

Nelliemoser Wed 30-Nov-16 22:45:21

That was good. Having watched (Actor Roger Allam)as Brigadier Adrian Stone (a baddy,) I found it a bit confusing as yesterday I had been watching that actor as Endeavour Morse's boss, Inspector Fred Thursday. (coughing up his lungs.)

silverlining48 Wed 30-Nov-16 22:42:57

Almost as confused as I was in episode 1. Lots of unanswered questions, Perchance series 3 in the offing, total concentration necessary.
Yes I think the brig is faking as a way of avoiding charges. What happened to the Scotsman? Sam didn't look thAt bad, despite the neck wound but didn't expect him to die. And who was in the back of the car when brigs daughter took him off. Questions questions. Will have to wait to see if we are ever to get answers.

Jalima Wed 30-Nov-16 22:26:30

I think Sam wore his scars as a 'badge of honour', showing that he fought the fire to try to save his daughter.

I think the Brig was faking it, he had a knowing gleam in his eye at the end. But if he lives for another 20 years or even more it's a long time to be faking it.

gettingonabit Wed 30-Nov-16 22:23:45

Phew! That was some episode.

So was the Brig faking? I reckon so. I'm.glad Reed turned out to be a goodie.

I didn't think the waiter in the cafe scene was convincing. A bit clichéd, methinks.

I thought Julien was going to peg it before the girls were found. shock.

Hope he makes it through his operation for another series.

gillybob Wed 30-Nov-16 22:18:29

Me too Jalima so much crammed into the last episode. Well I think we had already worked out that the girl in the shed was the third girl (Lena) and that "Alice" was Sophie etc.

Red herrings...... Why did Sam refuse the surgery to have his face fixed and then lie to his wife saying it would be too expensive ? What was the relevance of this?

What happened to Stone? Did his daughter take him home? Was the dementia a lie?

I could be here all night.
i was counting backwards in French for poor Baptiste but I predicted he would only get to four.

Rinouchka Wed 30-Nov-16 22:18:11

Yes, looks like Baptiste will live to make a comeback.
Final episode too unbelievable. A cascade of farfetched action, tying of loose ends with little satisfaction. Disappointing.
Little Lucy was the star!

Alima Wed 30-Nov-16 22:13:36

All tied up very nicely and Baptiste lives on to solve another case!

merlotgran Wed 30-Nov-16 22:13:11

Brilliant ending. Baptiste will live (hopefully)for another series.

Jalima Wed 30-Nov-16 22:11:18

TV fine!
Well, I feel wrung out.

Jalima Wed 30-Nov-16 18:54:44

I had logged off here, but the tv is playing up (no signal) shock, not tonight please!
DH is investigating!

gillybob Wed 30-Nov-16 18:31:39

It's the final episode tonight everyone. I hope it's a good ending and we are not left feeling even more confused than we were before. I also hope that they save Baptiste as I really rather fancy him as I would like for there to be another series.

Jalima Mon 28-Nov-16 14:27:36

And if Lucy is Sophie's child then he has a hold over Sophie so she will be compliant. She will do whatever he wants for fear he will harm the little girl.

Lillie Mon 28-Nov-16 12:09:08

Yes Jalima, I think Sophie has always been the main girl. Didn't drill man say to her last week something like, "So it was all worth it, wasn't?" I took that as meaning her being compliant, as well as her impersonating Alice and returning to the family.
