Last night I thought I would watch a scary film, not that I particularly like them but once in a while I feel like I should give those films another go. you never know maybe they make a good one suddenly. Last night I watched the babadook I missed half the film because I was looking away. what a waste! why do I keep watching these films when I dont actually enjoy them?

I want to watch a GOOD scary film, any ideas? I cant be the only one who loves to hate the scary stuff confused

Now I know I am a coward reading all these posts - The Sound of Music is exciting enough for me!

The woman in black with Daniel Radcliffe is scary. Night of the Hunter Robert Mitcham. We watched a the Wicker Man again last week..........odd.

I remember shrinking in my chair at the cinema in Don't Look Now to avoid the knife.

I'm not into films particularly & rarely watch one but do watch series like Wire in the Blood, blood & gore doesn't bother me & I watch quite a lot of the American series. grin

I'm more into reading than film watching, I go to bed & read, murder/mystery, psychological thrillers etc before going to sleep - never have nightmares. I live on my own in quite a secluded area, houses around me but fairly rural.

Feel safer here than I would in a town!!!! hmm

I remember going to the cinema with my boyfriend to see The Exorcist in the 70's.
It was really scary I can tell you, and scary films at that time never phased me at all.
When everyone left the cinema at the end, we were greeted by a group of church people handing out leaflets for people who felt affected by the film, offering spiritual help.

If you have Netflix, Stranger Things is very good - scary but not too scary. A sort of grown up Goonies if you remember the film.

We went to see The Woman in Black in the theatre in London - it was really scary - the whole audience jumped at one point! Always wondered though why he went to the East Coast from London via Crewe confused

I walked out of The Excorcist, sat in the cinema foyer with a book, and left my boyfriend in there until the end. I was only a teenager and it terrified me! The scariest film Ive watched as an adult was the original Wickerman with Edward Woodward ( I know theyve done a remake) I did like the old Dracula films and weren't scared of those.

The thing about films like The Wicker Man and Don't Look Now is that the horror just creeps up on you right at the end.

Modern day gore and slash fests don't do anything for me except make me feel rather sick if I've watched a bit of one by accident. Wolf Creek was one...thought it was going to be a psychological thriller but it was awful! shock

Not a fan of 'slasher' movies, but I do love a good ghost story or a science fiction. 'Woman in Black' was very scary and over ten years ago, I was traumatized by a Chinese horror called 'The Eye'....I believe the title in Chinese is 'Gin Gwai'.

With Halloween now looming, all the classic scary movies are out, so get your popcorn ready and be sure to turn the lights off, if you dare!

Cape Fear with Robert Mitcham was much better than the remake. Very creepy.

The very first Halloween was very good starring Jamie Lee Curtis in her first film role - I'd forgotten about that one!
