I am a non-baker, but I just love watching this programme.

I hope I am as sprightly as Mary Berry when I am 81.

Bakewell puddings are lovely! Nothing like Bakewell tart which is sickly sweet and too gooey. And I say that as someone who has a very sweet tooth indeed.

I don't think this series is as good as previous ones, they don't seem to be given enough time to do any of the challenges properly and everything seems a bit slapdash. I had tennis on last night at the same time as Bake Off and found I was watching tennis more than the cooking.

Just heard Mary Berry not going to new show either. Will Jamie replace her?

The notion of making my own filo pastry makes me feel tired! So easy to go along to the supermarket and buy some. Then you can concentrate on the fillings. My veggie son and I like to make interesting filo parcels at Christmas.

Yes, I just posted this on the thread about the BBC losing the show.

Can't see Jamie Oliver and Paul Hollywood getting on very well together on a tv show...grin

If Paul goes to Ch4 it'll either be him on his own or they'll get another woman to replace Mary, I think.

Hooray- good for Mary!! Hopefully BBC will make another programme fir her & Mel &Sue. Let's see if Paul joins them. Although I'm not bothered if he doesn't!

Made Bakewell tart as part of exam for my GCE Domestic Science. Passed with a A grade so it's not that hard. I haven't made one for ages but DH has requested one for weekend- yum!!

Oh & I did do feather icing on top! In chocolate icing though but I love the pink!.
