I dont know whether there is already a thread on this subject, but I just have to
S-C-R-E-A-M about the ITVBe Diet Coke Impulsive Moments advert. It just drives me crazy..the dreadful irritating music, the characters, the stupid sexist content, the interminable frequency of it!. Anyone feel the same?

If not, feel free to SCREAM on here about your own tv advert irritations!

Yes, there's another thread about annoying adverts over here, specki4eyes, also just started today smile

I've just realised that I spend so much time fast forwarding through the ads on recorded programmes that I'm not actually being annoyed by any at the moment.

rosesarered Fri 20-May-16 21:54:08

The same here Deedaa in fact I don't know this annoying Coke ad at all.I want to see it now.grin

specki4eyes Sat 21-May-16 13:52:51

rosesarered..I think its only on ITVBe Channel which I get on Freesat. They are only 10 seconds long and I know, I should get a life!! At first viewing its quite sweet, but then after you have seen each one seventeen thousand times (seems like!) you want to throw the telly through the window and chuck every can of Diet Coke into the deepest ocean. I will never drink Diet Coke again - Coca Cola execs please note!!! The one that is the most annoying is when one of the characters gesturesthat she wishes to be handcuffed by a traffic cop....Aaaarrgghhh!!!

They all drive me crackers,I always tape itv and scoot through them.

phoenix Sat 21-May-16 17:45:25

I have posted on another thread about the bloody Toffifee ad!

nigglynellie Sat 21-May-16 17:59:02

The advertisement I absolutely hate is the one with the bloke wearing tight shorts and high heeled shoes, mincing along wiggling his rear! YUK! I actually find it offensive, and scoot through it when I can and firmly read my Kindle when I can't

numberplease Sat 21-May-16 18:38:57

Nigglynellie, I agree with you, I think that ad is obscene!

Charleygirl Sat 21-May-16 18:55:20

I agree with nigglynellie and numberplease I also hate that ad for the same reasons.

I used to loathe the ad with Michael Winner going on about Esure insurance. I found him irritating.

The Aldi ad where a podgy man pops out of a woman in labour waving his car keys! It's just ridiculous, especially as the point of the ad is to show how much cheaper Aldi nappies are...

The earlier ones were quite funny, especially the old farmer leaping over the gate in the field while his friend looks on and says 'That's amazing!'.

HannahLoisLuke Sat 21-May-16 22:46:58

I haven't seen the Diet Coke ad but agree about the one with the man in tight shorts and high heels. Utterly cringeworthy.
Another one I loathe is the Haribo sweets ad with adults speaking in children's voices. In fact most if the adverts today are dumb awful things. Do you remember how good many of them were years ago? The Hamlet cigar ads were excellent and the Guiness ones too, especially the galloping horses in the sea. The Gold Blend love story was another. Sometimes they were better than the programmes!

vampirequeen Sun 22-May-16 09:05:02

I hate the Karcher window cleaner ad where the children deliberately draw all over the windows and the mother smiles as she cleans them. I also had the Dulux advert where the children draw on the walls and again the simpering mother smiles sweetly as she cleans up the mess.

Alea Sun 22-May-16 09:11:51

That reminds me that the little granddaughter of one of my friends is one of the Haribo voices. It's ages since I saw the ad, is it still running?

glammanana Sun 22-May-16 09:37:15

I just hate the little green monsters running around the toilet bowl it seems to always seems to appear at meal times urrhh.

miep Sun 22-May-16 12:01:35

In reference to the Karcher ad, not only do I dislike it, but the kids are drawing on the OUTside of the windows and the mother is seen cleaning th e INside! My hated ad is the one for Ribena. And I used to be a copywriter for my sins...

Floradora9 Sun 22-May-16 19:13:35

That supid man in the Carphone warehouse add . I wondered why he had a bandage round his hand but have read that is it as a gimic and not to hide a tattoo as he previously said but just a trademark . I hate the whole add anyway of him blowing a horn etc..

nigglynellie Sun 22-May-16 19:53:19

That vile advert was on earlier and DH flicked the programme! Other adverts annoy and irritate, (the idiot opera singer with the ridiculous moustache) but this one offends, to the point of writing to someone about it.

tattynan Sun 22-May-16 19:59:04

I think the Aldi advert where she gives birth to the grown man is creepy.I do like the Haribo ones though especially the older chap who likes the eggy ones best.

Greyduster Sun 22-May-16 21:18:15

The Tesco ad with Ben Miller and Ruth Jones and whoever plays their dippy son, who should have been drowned at birth! In fact, if i'd been Ruth Jones, I'd have run a mile from both of them!

FarNorth Sun 22-May-16 22:11:24

specki4eyes "one of the characters gestures that she wishes to be handcuffed by a traffic cop."
So that's what she's doing, I couldn't figure it out.
Yes, totally pathetic!

Maggymay Sun 22-May-16 22:53:27

I like the Thomas Cook advert with the dancing boy.
Reminds me of DGS when he was a bit younger.

vampirequeen Mon 23-May-16 21:02:36

I also hate the Ariel advert. In fact I think it's misleading. It shows a village somewhere (not UK) where they play football on a large white sheet. They then cut it in half and show one half washed and the other as it was. Of course, the washed half is spotless.

If you read the small print it says that a small piece of fabric with the same sort of stains was washed.
