And away we go again!

LullyDully, one of the joys of the Archers is that the story lines happen in real time. That's what is happening with the Hellen-Rob-children story. I'd love something Big to happen before too long, that could give us all some hope that Helen and her children have the chance to re-build their lives together. Even if that does happen, it's likely that Rob and his family will remain, even if only as background players. Even if the children are returned to Helen I expect Rob will have contact, even staying contact with them. The only thing I can think of that would stop that, is if something even Bigger emerges about him.

Just fed up with this....how much longer are they going to hang it out. Anna has got to help otherwise we are all.sunk.

Good Archers piss take sketch on Dead Ringers tonight.

14.3 mins in. grin

Unless you want to listen to the whole thing as an atidote to the football.

Couldn't Anna check with the school that Rob had visited + was going to send Henry? It would be easy to work out it would be Rob's old school.

MrsHat has a point; Carol has come back a changed person Obviously SOMETHING went wrong with hotshot Anna. Helen does seem to be boosted by Kaz; perhaps she will help. btw can't distinguish between Rex and Toby these days; who is the decent one?

merlotgran Fri 01-Jul-16 16:33:52

Why have we got to be subjected to more trauma in somebody's personal life? Anna is supposed to be a shit hot lawyer and so far she's failed to get much out of Helen and on the day of the hearing she behaved like she'd gone to work with a mega-hangover.

Maybe Helen would be better of with somebody who can join a few dots?

Lazigirl Fri 01-Jul-16 15:58:43

LullyDully In real life I am sure barristers have many cases where things go wrong, but they cannot let it affect their next case or get over involved or they couldn't do the job. Our legal system is adversarial and this is how they perform. She was hesitant when opening her client's case causing the judge to become impatient - a bad move. I know they will milk this storyline for maximum psychological impact but I do want it to reflect reality a bit. I think they are about to disclose some trauma in Anna's personal life, but hey, will have to wait and see. I don't read the spoilers, it ruins the fun.

LullyDully Fri 01-Jul-16 08:24:53

Anna has surely had a previous case where things went wrong. She sees the similarities between Helen's case and is determined to get a better outcome. ...I listened again and definitely got this impression. She needs to convince Helen to " woman up ".

She is in the process of thinking through what may have gone on and will hopefully come out all guns blazing.

Thank goodness you haven't missed any Gracesgran. I don't record, but rely on DH to let me know what happens when I'm out. Big mistake sad. You are a great asset to this thread!

merlotgran Thu 30-Jun-16 19:22:22

What a lovely episode tonight. Back to doom and gloom tomorrow, I expect.

mrshat Thu 30-Jun-16 18:03:41

Do you think Carol is 'feeding' some of her questionable cakes/drinks to Anna, thus unsettling her and hampering her ability to do a good job? shock

merlotgran Thu 30-Jun-16 16:07:50

Actually, that might not be such a good idea as Uncle Ian might make custard tarts shock

Maybe Brookfield and Jill's Lemon Drizzle would be a safer bet.

Gracesgran Thu 30-Jun-16 16:05:48

I understand the law suzied but I agree, it doesn't seem fair or even just.

I haven't missed any episodes (sad personblush) and there has been no comment on a home visit Lazigirl.

merlotgran Thu 30-Jun-16 16:05:07

Why do Pat and Tony keep Henry at Bridge Farm when they have him on Sundays? Playing games like, 'Run to that tree and back' is the stuff of three year olds.

So long as Kirsty keeps out of the way surely they could treat him to a slap up tea at Grey Gables?

suzied Thu 30-Jun-16 15:34:25

I can't understand why Helen can't see Henry as he is a witness but Rob, whose presumably is also a witness , can have access to Henry full time, and is obviously manipulating him.

Lazigirl Thu 30-Jun-16 15:24:11

Do you think SWs did home assessment with Rob and H before the hearing? If they did we didn't hear about it I don't think. I have missed the odd episode.

Gracesgran Thu 30-Jun-16 13:50:15

Is it surprising - as in I am surprised but I don't know how these things happen - that Rob isn't getting more visits from SS. There have already been some red flags you would think they have taken on board. That would annoy him (not that this is why they should visit) I suppose they are overworked under staffed but I do worry for Henry.

Lazigirl Thu 30-Jun-16 13:32:22

I don't get Anna. She was crap at the hearing and if she's supposed to be an expert with abuse cases she would have been able to overcome any ?personal angst. Having seen barristers in action they're brilliant actors. Can't put up with her being flaky, it's hard enough having to suffer for Helen. I don't think she was just realising what a clever operator Rob is.

LullyDully Thu 30-Jun-16 12:50:56

I think Pat and Tony need to seek advice before telling Henry that ' naughty Mummy ' theis in jail. I felt very sad that he asked for.her the other day.

Nelliemoser Thu 30-Jun-16 11:41:25

The awful Kate livens things up though and her character has stayed true all though. I like the interaction between Kate and Lilian they are two of a kind.

merlotgran Thu 30-Jun-16 10:42:19

One of the boys at school will taunt him about his mum being in prison (surprised it hasn't already happened)

Not nice for poor Henry but it might make him start to put two and two together and remember a bit more about Stabgate.

LullyDully Thu 30-Jun-16 10:18:16

Surely not, but he will need a few years of psychotherapy. Something will happen, his wheel of fate needs to turn soon. B......

shysal Thu 30-Jun-16 09:07:15

I am wondering whether Henry will be seriously injured or even killed by Rob before the trial.sad

merlotgran Wed 29-Jun-16 22:43:09

I don't want any more angst. Haven't we suffered enough? hmm

Alea Wed 29-Jun-16 22:29:40

I'm wondering what this is all about (Anna) too??
