And away we go again!

AyjayF Mon 25-Apr-16 11:37:09

George gave Ed an expensive watch for his birthday. Apparently he 'saved up' for it. Eddie ( his grandad) expressed surprise. Oh, wait a minute. Maybe he stole the watch not the money! Now I'm confused too!

Gracesgran Mon 25-Apr-16 10:35:21

What did you hear and when did you hear it? Please let me know smile I must go and get some things done but I will be wracking my brain to think what it could be.

AyjayF Mon 25-Apr-16 10:32:23

Yes,Shysal looks like Alf has been framed! Did George take the money or is he an accomplice?

Gracesgran Mon 25-Apr-16 10:29:51

How did you get that shysal - I missed it completely - I think my ears shut when I get upset [sad smile]

I don't know how much I can bear either HannahLoisLuke but there is a strong feeling in me that I should. I blame my parents for making me feel overly responsible grin - just think what Henry's parents are doing to him sad

HannahLoisLuke Mon 25-Apr-16 10:14:59

I felt sick too. This is possibly going to be even worse than the Helen/Rob scenario. Not sure I can bear to listen!

shysal Mon 25-Apr-16 09:48:38

It is looking rather like George Grundy is the curtain fund thief. I wonder where that will go.

chloe1984 Mon 25-Apr-16 08:51:49

Just when I thought I would be able to listen without getting stressed- not sure what I would have done in Pat's position . Can't wait until someone tells Cursula to leave Henry alone especially as she hasn't had care of a small child for years and wouldn't know his routine/ needs etc.

Gracesgran Sun 24-Apr-16 23:34:30

Had any one else picked up that the police had detected that Rob had a tracker on Helen’s phone? I saw it elsewhere.

Gracesgran Sun 24-Apr-16 22:46:37

That was only tonight though suzied. I imagine, after they picked there chins off the floor they will not know what to do and they will be very distressed. I would suggest they ring the solicitor in the morning - what can they actually do before then? They are not going to go round hammer on the door and take Henry away tonight are they? I suppose they could ring the police but what are they going to say - he is with his father. Ursula knows quite a bit about defeating nice people too with the way she is so vicious knowing they will be feeling guilty.

Rob has legal Parental Responsibility so we may find they cannot do anything about it and they will not want to do anything to upset Helen's case by just shouting the odds.

Nasty people they are dealing with - but clever nasty people. This sort of person (Rob) wrecks lives - including the children's sad which is why I said I felt sick. This story is very close, as far as I can see to real situations like this where lots of people will feel very, very helpless.

suzied Sun 24-Apr-16 21:45:51

Yes, I agree to a point, Pat and Tony are trying to make sense of it, having accepted Rob when Helen was besotted, despite all the reservations they had about him being married, her making up stuff about jewellery making when she was off meeting Rob etc. But they shouldn't accept Ursula's say so about not returning Henry without making a huge fuss, after all they are the grandparents Henry has known his whole life, he's only just met Ursula.( and she wants to pack him off to school at the earliest opportunity )

Gracesgran Sun 24-Apr-16 21:32:15

So what would you have done suzied - within the law and with the knowledge you would have had (almost nothing except your daughter had just knifed the man she appeared to love) and the desperation you would have felt for your daughter?

Helen covered up Rob's behaviour and minimised it to everyone including her family which is what people in this position do, so Pat and Tony are only just realising what it is all about. To me - and I know this is just my opinion as your post is just your opinion - in these circumstance the script writers are keeping them in character within the story.

Luckygirl Sun 24-Apr-16 21:21:01

It is becoming less and less plausible - surely Pat would have checked with the lawyer as to whether it was OK for Henry to go to Rob's at all.

merlotgran Sun 24-Apr-16 21:01:43

Don't hold your breath, suzied. Their organic lettuces have more backbone.

suzied Sun 24-Apr-16 20:55:48

Pat and Tony have been horribly wet so far. Let's hope they up their grandparently game and make a hooha.

grumppa Sun 24-Apr-16 20:52:40

Better still, I hope they ring the SAS.

merlotgran Sun 24-Apr-16 20:34:12

I hope Pat and Tony ring the SS

grin grin

Gracesgran Sun 24-Apr-16 20:31:26

Grumppa - I wish

Gracesgran Sun 24-Apr-16 20:29:55

I don't know about anyone else but I felt sick. I agree Iam Pat and Tony could be any one us out of their depth in this way. Perhaps this will make them question their beliefs about Rob's behaviour. Once it starts to unravel and they see these people do not behave like them, the more they may be able to find out just talking to others. I keep saying this but we all expect people to behave like us until we are proved wrong - for good or for bad. So the thief expects everyone to be dishonest and the generally good and kind believe they will get that sort of treatment in return. It is a huge step to think differently of someone you have trusted because it rocks the basis of your world.

I don't know what the social services would say but I have a feeling that, with what they know so far (very little except his mum knifed his dad), they would let him stay with Rob and his mother. Perhaps what this could do is ground Helen when she hears so that she talks to Anna.

I hope Pat and Tony ring the SS just in case anything happens at school as the school will obviously be aware and refer problems to them - and things may add up. Let's hope you are right merlogran although poor little boy. Horrifyingly I have a feeling he may end up staying with Rob until more of the story is told - possibly until the trial sad

Alea Sun 24-Apr-16 20:10:27

2 birds with one stone?!!!

grumppa Sun 24-Apr-16 20:07:03

I did detect Rob getting (understandably) irritated with his mother. Now if he were to lose his temper with her and murder her......

Iam64 Sun 24-Apr-16 19:57:14

I like your scenario for the next 24 hours merlot. Henry having a melt down at school and talking about daddy chucking in rabbit in the bin, chasing him and frightening him.

Rob's the only person with PR in a position to exercise it. What a duplicitous pair he and his awful mother are, to pretend "the child" was simply visiting and then keep him. Pat n Tony are behaving like ordinary people in an extraordinary situation. They do need to see this behaviour as part of a pattern of deceit and control and seek legal advice first thing tomorrow morning.

merlotgran Sun 24-Apr-16 19:45:20

I predict Henry will winge for his robot, keep Ursula awake with his nightmares, wet the bed and refuse his breakfast. Rob will lose his temper which causes Henry to have a flashback (hopefully at school)

Are R&U allowed to keep Henry given that he's a witness?

Wake up Pat and Tony. How many times have I said this? grin

Newquay Sun 24-Apr-16 19:27:01

Now what are they doing-Henry going back under the control of that poisonous pair? PLEASE let there be a just resolution of this soon.

Gracesgran Sat 23-Apr-16 23:36:57

Oh for editing - not no but not (unless I am channelling someone Scottish)

Gracesgran Sat 23-Apr-16 23:20:56

I doubt that Women's Aid would be able to tell the police - frustrating but I feel they would no be allowed to under data protection. If Helen brings it up then I am sure they could be called as witnesses.

I don't think Jess is withholding evidence merlotgran - she knows nothing about the incident and that is what Helen will be tried for. She would be used to build up a picture of a pattern of behaviour where Rob was seeking to take away Helen's "liberty or freedom, to strip away their sense of self" (coercive control) and possibly "reports" of what Helen said would be allowed - but that is hearsay and may not be. We need to remember she does not know what happened to Helen only what Helen told her happened but she could be asked about her own relationship with Rob which, I would think, would be stronger.

(I'm not a lawyer so I may have got this all wrong but justice has a lot of rules - that's why they need Anna smile)
