I know most of us were pretty rude about the first series but I thought last night's episode was an improvement. The humour seemed to be more due to their different characters rather than just being funny because they were old.

We didn't see series 1 so last night was our first time watching. Thought is was ok if a bit daft and it passed the time until Mrs Brown's Boys! tbublush

I watched one episode of the first series and thought it dire.

I was not over-impressed with the latest effort, a little silly - although I know it is supposed to be, but I do think it belittles the generation too much, and I am not of that generation.

I quite like it and often their exaggerated situations have tiny similarities to my life. I am sure that I have often said that I am having a great time when I have really yearned to be elsewhere just to please loved ones.

I quite like this second series, too. I think I've identified myself with Alison Steadman's character, really (sort of eager to please, and never having the right clothes for the occasion)! grin

There is a scathing review about it in today's Sunday Times which I have to admit I tend to agree with. I've really tried to like it, I sat down to watch the new series and tried to keep an open mind. After all, the actors are all excellent and I should be able to relate to the age group.

However my pesky inner feminist kept shouting at the screen. I just find the female characters so feeble. These are women who grew up during the dawn of modern feminism, for goodness sake.

I suppose it's a good job I'm self aware enough to know that my comment says more about me than about the programme. hmm But I do feel it doesn't help with the public perception of older women, especially those of us that are still trying to stay in the workplace.

I like it, always have. There's a lot of comedy on TV I can't bear but this one makes me laugh out loud. Truly detest Benidorm and Mrs Brown's Boys for example, but think Boomers is funny...

I quite like it too, an undemanding gentle comedy.

The men seem much more feeble than the women to me. I have to agree with mollie that Benidorm and Mrs Brown's Boys are awful.

I quite like Boomers but I think it could be much better. The actors are good but the storylines are sometimes weak.
