The original one is full, having reached 1,000 posts shock, so I thought we could start again!

No smacked wrist merlotgran - what a strange reaction to someone else having a different point of view to yours and showing that their can be one.

The character is showing us how people would feel in RL and my thoughts would be - just my thoughts of course - is that unless I have walked a mile, etc., I would not want to judge people in that position. Do people on Mumsnet always jump down someone's throat for having - and putting - a different point of view?

I think I'd be punching the walls if it weren't for next week's summaries. Couldn't help having a sneaky look.

Hopefully Helen will make that vital phone call.

Rob is an absolutely ghastly man and I hate him. Sometimes abusers can be very subtle and sly though so keep their abuse hidden.

AyjayF Thu 24-Mar-16 19:18:47

Agggghhh!!! Almost thought she'd got Rob then. Teeth gnashing time.

Luckygirl Thu 24-Mar-16 18:14:48

Next week's Radio Times summary of the Archers is interesting! The fan is about to come into action I think!

She also lived with man who committed suicide. She has a troubled history but has a good friend in Kirsty.

Don't forget that Helen, in the past, was in rehab for anorexia - or was it bulimia? She is a vulnerable person, easily bullied.

merlotgran Thu 24-Mar-16 12:06:02

I'd already read it, gracesgran from a link on the Mumsnet thread.

No need for the slapped wrist.

I'm entitled not to like Helen as a character even if I'm sorry for her predicament.

It's a drama....not a documentary.

Gracesgran Thu 24-Mar-16 11:55:46

Merlotgran, if you read the link I put on you will see that the writer thinks comments like "Helen, you are still a spoiled brat." are unkind and judgemental - and I have to agree. She follows this up with:

Helen is vulnerable, abused and unable to think clearly. The chances are, Rob will make her believe that the pain of sending Henry away is something else she must bear for the greater good. But it could well be the trigger for Pat and Tony to stop trying to convince themselves that Rob is a wonderful husband and stepfather.

One thing I feel is certain - this is not over yet sad

Iam64 and Marmight - love HM and 007! Thank you!

Thanks, LullyDully and merlotgran. Superb bit of light relief from this grim saga. Hopefully the end's in sight...

Here you are, phoenix grin

Where is the link to the midwives/Helen thing?confused

Nelliemoser Wed 23-Mar-16 20:16:47

I think Kirsty was right to say what she was thinking. Whatever Helen thought of it she did not want to hear it or acknowledge it to anyone else but it might well sink in later.

My husband commented tonight that Rob might have been the one who burnt down the Fairbrother's chicken house. The fire service said it was arson.
I hadn't thought about that at all but Rob was very scathing about the enterprise and it could potentially affect the farm shop profits.

merlotgran Wed 23-Mar-16 20:07:01

Tonight half of me was thinking, Oh Kirsty, you're overplaying it and the other half was thinking, Helen, you are still a spoiled brat.

It's all up to Henwee tomorrow now.

Gracesgran Wed 23-Mar-16 00:34:18

especially - sorry

Gracesgran Wed 23-Mar-16 00:33:41

I found the really interesting - especialy how it would be best for Kirsty to behave ... tell/not tell and what may happen about the suggestion of boarding school.

What should poor Helen from #TheArchers do now?

LullyDully Tue 22-Mar-16 22:24:14

It is: m.soundcard.com/shambridge/call-the-midwife-to ambridge. Marmight. Doesn't seem to have come up as a link..

Nelliemoser Tue 22-Mar-16 20:11:10

You can copy a lot of these pictures from GN and Facebook by
right clicking on the mouse.

A box appears with a lot of options on.
You can then scroll down the box to Save image as.

Then "save it" (into a file where you are sure you can remember exactly how to locate it again)

You can then go back into the picture file and double click and the picture will appear in the browse box below this screen from where you can preview it.

Marmight Tue 22-Mar-16 19:58:47

Lully can you give me the link?

merlotgran Tue 22-Mar-16 19:39:22

He does seem rather fond of them.

I like the way David sidestepped the hint that they might doss down at Rickyards. shock

AyjayF Tue 22-Mar-16 19:27:57

With Bert?

merlotgran Tue 22-Mar-16 19:26:51

Three guesses as to where the Fairbrothers end up living?

merlotgran Tue 22-Mar-16 19:04:06

Ha Ha! Thanks, Marmight

Iam64 Tue 22-Mar-16 18:52:15

Oh thanks Marmight, it's a cracker, isn't it.
