The original one is full, having reached 1,000 posts shock, so I thought we could start again!

Is Sam in NZ, one wonders. Ruth's not thinking straight, unless she has friends or family there.

aggie Fri 20-Nov-15 21:33:17

Is Ruth using Pips place on the Young Farmers trip ?

merlotgran Fri 20-Nov-15 21:36:14

She'll probably change her mind at the last minute just as Pip did about Argentina and David about selling up and moving to Prudhoe. hmm

Alea Fri 20-Nov-15 21:36:27

Are we to be spared Ruth's whining for a blessed few weeks then? smile

chelseababy Fri 20-Nov-15 21:50:05

We can but hope!

phoenix Fri 20-Nov-15 22:10:07

Elrel are you psychic? The driving thing! And Pat actually suggested it/went along with it! (Can't remember which)

merlotgran Fri 20-Nov-15 22:11:11

Um. Ruth, have you forgotten you have a thirteen year old son?

Elrel Fri 20-Nov-15 22:21:11

Phoenix - I could scarcely believe it when Pat leapt in to say Helen shouldn't drive! I don't clearly remember about her previous accident, presumably when Mike lost the sight of one eye. Having c
Had to cope with Helen's eating disorder and mental fragility I guess Pat is inclined to be overprotective. She didn't seem to pick up on Helen pleading with her not to tell Rob either. All he seemed worried about was whether Henry was with her.

Elrel Fri 20-Nov-15 22:24:33

Merlotgran - Ruth seems to be forgetting the whole family, and the farm. Thirteen is not a good age to have a parent take off to find herself! Do you think she liked the rugby team or thinks she'll be happier in Middle Earth?!

Nana3 Sat 21-Nov-15 07:57:31

The Rob character has put me off, I must have missed something, not listened much lately, why NZ? A long chat with Usha usually helps? I never thought Ruth would have coped with Heather at the farm, caring is a full time job.

Iam64 Sat 21-Nov-15 07:59:58

Ruth is bereaved and depressed. She's making bad decisions and reacting to ordinary things, rather than reflecting and responding.

suzied Sun 22-Nov-15 17:16:44

perhaps Ruth is going to do a Shirley Valentine.

grumppa Sun 22-Nov-15 18:21:53

We only have her word for it that New Zealand is her destination. I think she's off to Syria to martyr herself for Daesh.

Blondehedgehog Tue 24-Nov-15 11:43:30

I just dip in and out of the Archers.
I never thought Helen was that odd, but Rob gives me the creeps. What do you think he is really after? Is he just a control freak?

Luckygirl Tue 24-Nov-15 11:53:50

Rob clearly never had any intention to go for a proper job. I too speculate about what they are living on. Love?

grumppa Thu 26-Nov-15 07:40:45

Result! I predicted on 31 October that Linda would get Roy involved in Calendar Girls. Though I must admit I hadn't expected Elizabeth to collude with her. Game on!

chelseababy Thu 26-Nov-15 12:58:17

Kristy moving in with Roy (as house mate) could be interesting as Roy and Tom best friends. Could they get back together (again)?

grumppa Thu 26-Nov-15 15:40:50

Will Elizabeth be jealous of Kirsty?

Iam64 Thu 26-Nov-15 17:38:06

No, Elizabeth will be relieved if Roy and Kirsty get together

I continue to regret the new producer chucking Nigel off the roof. He was such good value and the Archers lacks a posh, eccentric lord of the manor type.

Luckygirl Thu 26-Nov-15 18:07:43

Well perhaps he will come back from the dead - the plots are often sufficiently far-fetched!

NanKate Thu 26-Nov-15 18:39:37

I miss Nigel too. sad

merlotgran Thu 26-Nov-15 19:53:40

I wish Pat would sod off accompany Ruth on her trip to NZ. She is getting on my nerves. Can she really be that dense?

Most farming families are terribly wary of new partners/in laws etc. There's a lot at stake if it all goes belly up and when Rob said he'd turned down the job (which he didn't even apply for) I thought Pat would have a light bulb moment.

Fat chance angry

Blondehedgehog Fri 27-Nov-15 12:18:09

Could something 'happen' to Rob along the line of Nigels demise? The man is giving me the creeps

suzied Fri 27-Nov-15 13:55:12

No the scriptwriters are going to milk this storyline for a while yet.....

chelseababy Thu 03-Dec-15 20:03:58

It's a boy! Now there's a surprise.....Helen didn't seem too pleased though.
