Most annoying TV presenter?

I recorded a few of ITV daytime's 'Guess this House' for 'rainy day' watching. As well as the non-grammatical title, Saira Khan the presenter is so intense, false and loud that I have no desire to watch more than the first episode, so have deleted the rest. As a previous Apprentice contestant, she is meant to be intelligent, but even her pronunciation of (H)aitch irritates me.
Who would you choose as your most annoying presenter?

You are all wrong it's Susanna i love myself Read!yuck

I listened to Vanessa (Phelps?) this morning on the car radio.

I thought what a nice, light voice she had, with distinct pronunciation. Then I, well DH actually, started to get fed up and switched her off because she kept on and on and on about one particular subject, which was important but affects a very small minority.

Stephen Fry was great in that programme where he played a country solicitor, but as a presenter is too .... what's the word?
Oh, what's the word? Ingratiating?

Ana Fri 21-Aug-15 20:05:48

Oleaginous!

(imo)

rosequartz Fri 21-Aug-15 20:08:40

Ooh er, there's posh for you! grin

Obsequious too!

Ana Fri 21-Aug-15 20:09:50

Unctuous and fawning...grin

Ana Fri 21-Aug-15 20:14:25

He seems to have become like this since being declared a 'National Treasure' - he was great in earlier acting roles, playing Jeeves as well as that solicitor bloke. Bursting out of his boots now, perhaps?

rosequartz Fri 21-Aug-15 20:27:40

Yes, I used to like him but he has becomer very unctuous!

DD2 still thinks he is wonderful, so that's OK!

etheltbags1 Fri 21-Aug-15 22:54:51

they are all annoying, I haven't seen anyone I like for a long time.

Keith Lemon - can'tstand men acting like 12 year olds
Naga Muncheti - woke up to her horrible laugh this morning and I'm now in a bad mood.
Russel Brand - another 12 year old with a very high opinion of himself. He's an idiot really.

feetlebaum Tue 25-Aug-15 08:04:42

Dan Cruickshank, with his breathless style, talking but never saying much puts my teeth on edge...

HildaW Tue 25-Aug-15 09:42:14

Cannot abide 'Keith Lemmon', but unlike other presenters he is an invented character methinks aimed at the 'yoof' market!

trisher Tue 25-Aug-15 12:09:09

Most annoying is Alex Jones of The One Show who seems to be extending her role into many other programmes. She epitomises the smiling, sycophantic women who seem to be coming to the forefront now. Whatever happened to thinking women with brains?

Tegan Tue 25-Aug-15 13:52:47

I guess that other things influence us, not just their presenting skills. I love Dan Cruickshank, mainly because of how instrumental he was in saving parts of London that would have been demolished. I also like Brian Sewell [strange given that I said yesterday that I disliked Sir Roy Strong] because he is often photographed with a whippet#i'msoshallowandtwofacedandiknowit

feetlebaum Tue 25-Aug-15 14:01:46

Oh, I like Sewell - he doesn;t give a damn what people think of him or of what he is saying - he just gets on with saying it. Years ago, Ned Sherrin's
Loose Ends radio programme would pair him up with someone a bit gorblimey and send them off to an art exhibition or something - the resulting squabbles were very funny!

Icyalittle Tue 25-Aug-15 14:01:49

Pretty much any children's presenters / continuity people. The fake enthusiasm, over-loud voices, patronising twaddle, bleached teeth, prancing around - oh why don't I get off the fence and say what I really think!

alegrandma Tue 25-Aug-15 22:18:20

It must be wonderful to be so perfect!

feetlebaum Tue 25-Aug-15 23:06:19

@alegrandma - Oh, it is, it is... I wouldn't want to be anything else...

Tegan Tue 25-Aug-15 23:17:19

Do you like Neil Brand who does those BBC4 music programme feetle? Was watching the one about film soundtracks last night; do love the way he presents these programmes. The S.O. can't stand Jools Holland to the point where he won't watch Later with Jools confused no matter how good the music is.

HildaW Wed 26-Aug-15 10:21:14

Must admit I secretly admire those tv types who remain cheerful albeit only whilst the camera is running, despite some pretty stiff provocation. Being relentlessly cheerful takes a lot of effort!

felice Thu 27-Aug-15 19:36:12

I just saw Keith Lemmon for the first time on the One Show this evening,,, annoying does not really say it, attention seeking, irritating and quite rude. I thought Alex Jones was going to tell him to Shut UP, I bet she wanted to.

NanKate Fri 28-Aug-15 20:26:08

I was recommended to a The world's largest railway on BBC2 set in India. Yes it is interesting programme but why do they need 4 presenters ? In addition why do they ask a question and then repeat the answer back.

E.g. 'How many meals are you preparing' ?
'4000 a day'
'4000 a day '?
'Yes'

That was a made up conversation but I am sure you will get my drift.

Some presenters ask a question and then give some alternative answers themselves instead if shutting up and listening.

I know Clare Balding is a bit on overkill, but she knows when to keep quiet and listen and allow her guest to speak. I had to turn Fern Britton off the radio the other day her questioning techniques were dire.

Where have all the good presenters gone?

lizzi50 Mon 31-Aug-15 08:03:52

Terry Wogan since he started appearing on TV in 1980s. Loved his Radio 2 early morning prog which ran for years but his transfer to TV not good. Same goes for Anne Robinson. She used to present Radio 2 prog for several years in the 1980s and had brilliant ratings but went off her after started doing TV progs. Same for Noel Edmonds. Unmissable early morning radio in the 1970s but transfer to prime time TV not good. I think I see a thread running through this!

Don't get me started on Bruce Forsyth. Never, ever, ever liked him. In the days when I watched Strictly I had to record it and fast forward the parts when he appeared. Same went for Len and Bruno, realised I was fast forwarding so much of Strictly it was time to stop watching.

Room 101 presenter Frank ? I liked his predecessor (can't recall his name).

I agree with earlier comments about Carol the BBC News weather presenter; she's just pronounced Norfolk as Norfock.

lizzi50 Mon 31-Aug-15 08:11:35

I hadn't noticed until I read earlier posts. Carol also said Scotlind and Englind this morning.

NanKate Wed 02-Sept-15 19:37:00

Lizzy it was the very funny Paul Merton on Room 101. smile

Ceesnan Wed 02-Sept-15 19:47:01

Vanessa Feltz. Ghastly woman who has a vastly over inflated sense of her own importance.
